It is hot off the press!!! Wow beautifully bound. FINALLY! U did not make enough. I want 2! These are going to be great gifts! :medal
Thanks, Micki.
Indeed, the book is off the press. But the bindery is still running 3 shifts a day to get it ready to ship to Telluride in a few weeks… :eek
You are going to love it. Sam Bush wrote the introduction; Chris Thile wrote the afterword. We’ve included more than 2 dozen essays from staff and artists including Tim O’Brien, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, Emmylou Harris, Winston Marshall (Mumford & Sons). Pastor Mustard wrote brilliantly colorful text for each year of the festival. And the entire book is just gorgeous - with full-page reproductions of each year’s art poster and more than 350 photos from the last 40 years.
We’re printing 5,000 hardbound editions. And they’ll go onsale on June 19 at the Country Store inside the festival.
Anyone know the price yet?
Is it scratch-n-sniff?
The Art work too! WOW! This is perfect for someone like me who never takes pictures!!!
LOVE IT! Excited to see it. Please save one for me :lol they are going to go very fast! :medal
you so funny
Damn, now I have to get in the store early. I might just spend Chris’s set in line.
:wave you can get them online as well but the price will be a tad higher for shipping. :flower
That’s my plan cause it too nice to get dirty…
only 5K? We already need more :lol
I am hugely seeking to get my hands on any photos showing the Challenger Productions mobile television truck, an 18-wheeler parked backstage at TBF in 1985. That’s the last time I was there. Whatever you ask in return, I would do virtually anything to get one photo showing Challenger’s truck. I freelanced as a video engineer for this gig. I would like to publicly archive one image (or more) with photographer credits. (reference thread: TBF Video Tape Recordings WERE MADE for the entire TBF 1985)
What time does the General Store open ?
Ohhh… 'bout 3:00 PM :evil
LOL!! :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol
:rollin
Ross, the Country Store (usually) opens within a half hour or so of the gate time. (read: as soon as possible)
There is ALWAYS a line on Thursday, FYI.
Thanks BluegrassDustin
So I get that the first 5000 are free, but what will the rest of the people have to pay? :pirate
Pastor Mustard (aka Dan Sadowsky) just did a wonderful 15 minute interview with Telluride Inside & Out about his early days at TBF and about the writing of the upcoming book.
Here’s the complete post:

And here’s a direct link to the soundcloud audio for the interview:

“When we played in 1975… the whole thing kinda looked like the Kon-Tiki, thrown together with native logs and rhubarb fiber. Pretty strange and wonderful. But we didn’t care - Telluride was unbelievable.”
Great stuff!
Great(!) review at No Depression.

Thanks for posting that link, Doc :thumbsup

Both of these were great reads! I can’t wait to pick up my copy. Make sure to hold one for me!
I almost cried reading that article about 40 years of TBF. I am so happy Colo Springs had the Meadow Grass music festival last month…which led me to TBF and all you great people who have been rocking this festival for so long. :peace
