Just wondering if anyone had some tips for the tarp run in the mornings? I had a specific question, can you use stakes to secure your tarp or do you have to use rocks or something heavy? What time should you be in line by? Thanks
Tent stakes are fine, rocks are not! Rocks tend to be left on the grounds afterwards & that’s not good. Have fun & good luck! :cheers
Please remember to plant that stake fully in the ground however. Half driven stakes are an accident waiting to happen. Cut my foot last year on one.
I would disagree on tent stakes being fine. I guess they are acceptable but there are better options (like sandals/shoes, chairs/coolers positioned in each corner).
As LS pointed out, people get hurt on tent stakes. As she pointed out, make sure they are all the way in and try to cover them with some soft material once they are in - a lot people bounce around the grounds barefoot and I’ve seen oh so many hit a tarp corner and start wincing after stepping on an exposed metal stake… :eek
I’ve found the u-shaped aluminum stakes work well, at least they don’t have sharp edges, but they can be hard to drive in to the rock hard ground sometimes. I guess you could pour a little water or beer on the ground to soften it up some :lol If you’re gonna put something on the corners of your tarp make sure it’s relatively heavy. I’ve seen tarps blow around when big wind gusts come up.
