The only issue I see is that we’ll end up with either a lot of egg dishes, or none, and how we’ll keep it all warm (or cold).
I know Hooch will be bringing bacon.
People can bring fruit too.
I can add this to the schedule once we figure out how we should tell people what to bring. :flower
Well, we’ve got 8 cans of sterno, but no warming trays- if someone has some of those, we could go that route- but I agree, Tom- and I hate cold eggs.
So- what if we set up a bunch of cooking stations in common areas near WanderIn/Jailhouse for things that should be hot and fresh- like eggs (cooked different ways) and pancakes and such, that can go straight from skillet/griddle to plate. Keeping things that need to be held warm to a minimum.
Breakfast stuff ain’t rocket science, so if each station had about two or three shifts of chefs, folks could eat-a-little and cook-a-little. Whaddya think? :cheers
I’ll bring a waffle maker- we can plug into bathroom…LOL
We can make up little cups of batter a’la hotels - each can make their own…
I think Jailhouse purchased warming trays that we can use last year… But, honestly- doesnt have to be many eggs…
Bagels, sweet breads made at home before coming, BACON, sausage, fruit, apple cobbler type things made in dutch ovens, oatmeal w/ differnt toopings, granola, milk, juice, toast and jellies, bean burritos ,muffins made in the camp ovens etc
All these can easily be prepared in camps etc…
:thumbsup
I have two chafing dishes an can pick up another if needed. I have that great oven I got last year and judging from the response, there will be more of them in camp this year. Jailhouse also has plenty of burners to do come scrambled eggs on the spot. :thumbsup
We should be able to keep warm all that is needed. We do need a list of who is going to bring what, ao that all the breakfast goodies are covered. :wave
I can precook a couple of breakfast casseroles (eggs, cheese, ham and bread) or premake breakfast burrito’s to reheat in the oven. :cheers
I am also planning on ordering in a big country ham from Tennessee. That will be a treat for those who have never experienced it! :lol
Need fruit, baked goods, etc. like Deb said. Think Monday morning is perfect.
You guys are making me hungry! For sure I will bring bacon choc. cup cakes… :flower
:cheers
Happy New Year to All!
Don’t forget, we need folks to help with the Bloody Marys! Deb needs tomato juice and vodka, etc.
:cheers
We did go through about thirty gallons last year! Think there are a few folks in TP that like their cocktails!
:cheers
Ah Hell Rob,just go ahead and do eggs Benny! :lol Let me know how it goes Ha ha
Anyone else find it just a tad amusing that we are all planning a breakfast 6 months in the future???
Yeah, I know, it’s now 2010 … so we can now start PACKING…
festivaaaaaaallllllllll!!!
Sounds pretty good so far, but somehow I don’t envision many people eating oatmeal and drinking a bloody mary at the same meal. :lol :lol :lol :lol
As far as chafing dishes go, why couldn’t we scramble up a bunch of eggs and make a burrito bar with a side table with tortillas and wraps, shredded cheese, salsas, sour cream, cooked sausage and bacon, green chilies, black beans, maybe some chili for smotherin, and have a do it yourself burrito bar. Raw eggs can be scrambled ahead of time and frozen, which would eliminate a bunch of shells to have to dispose of, and even the sausage could be pre-cooked and crumbled, frozen, then reheated.
I think it would be a smaller turnout as many people won’t even be there yet on Monday.

I already plan to bring about 4 gallons of tomato juice and a big bottle of vodka! :thumbsup
Kinda torn. Like the southwestern breakfast bar idea, but do love a pot lick so I get to try other folks good stuff! :thumbsup
I’m game, as long as it is easier on all and more social. Not stuck in the kitchen and able to mingle is important! The includes the bloody mary lady from tuscon.
But, I do feel the camp breakfast thing is something we started and is a great addition to the pre-fest activities. Think Monday is the day to do it, but give me some votes so we can go with the masses as to the actual format for the Monday Camp Breakfast! :thumbsup
Hope all had as good of New Years Day as U did! Didn’t do shit! Had some great food (love to cook!) and football and booze. And, GO BOILERS! How about that game! My Loved Boilers are for real this year!
:cheers :cheers :cheers :cheers :cheers
Just a reminder about the poll function here on the forum…
You can make a poll and get votes that way.
Happy New Year. :flower
Rock On Dustin !
:cheers
Bump!
Sans the eggs benedict. Loved doin it but it was a lot of work!
Ideas?
I’d suggest doing an easier, faster food without so many parts to assemble. Why not a good old fashioned pancake breakfast?
The bloody marys last year were great too, but do bloodys and pancakes go together?? Pancakes and Mimosas?
Pancakes and mimosas, I’ll second that! :thumbsup
Then you can have a wild variety of pancake flavors:
blueberries, apples & bananas, strawberries… and then the different syrups, and bacon on the side… mmmm

What can I do, what can I bring? :huh
I want to help and meet the family ( I think I met quite a few of you 2 years ago)!!!
Willing to cook, clean, etc, and bring whatever supplies!!!
