So this Aussie has never heard or seen Sturgill Simpson until today. One of the reasons I love Telluride is learning about your country’s amazing musicians.

Sturgill is absolutely phenomenal. I’m so happy they got him.
His first album is probably my favorite, but you can’t go wrong with any of them.

I just checked his website. He’s playing Sunday this year.
I don’t see him closing the mainstage. My guess is they put him in the “headliner” spot, one before the closer.
So unless they move the House Band, we may be looking for a closer for Thursday. :cheers

Leftover Salmon has Thursday listed on their website. But they might still be there all weekend and I would hope they have a nightgrass as well as main stage. Still have hope for Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, they were a lot of fun at First Avenue Saturday night.

I’d like to see some indie alternative band like Beck, Modest Mouse, Built To Spill or Ween, though I doubt most of these would be fitting for the TBF crowd.
Realistically I’d love to see Trey Anastasia Band, Government Mule, or String Cheese as a headliner/closer.

The world knows we want to see AK and Union Station but I understand that she is expensive. I would really like to see Carolina and the Chocolate Drops, I love their music and I hope to catch The Oh Hellos again, when I’m in the US, I think they are fantastic. Am really excited to see Billy Strings at Telluride!
Now to get anxious about Nightgrass. It is my biggest anxiety every year. How to make sure I get a ticket for the high school…

I don’t think The Carolina Chocolate Drops are still doing anything. Though Rhiannon Giddens (the main force behind that band) is still touring and releasing albums. She even played TBF a few years ago and gave the keynote speech at IBMA this year.
