Lineup change for AJ Lee and Blue Summit.

Big news coming from Punch-landia.

Stay tuned. Write if you get work.

Jerry D announced 100th birthday celebration for Earl Scruggs planned for Jan 6 next year.

Nice article on Michael Cleveland in the New York Times. He will join Bela for a duo disc.

Strong buzz about 13 yo Wyatt Ellis who wowed 'em at the Doc Watson Tribute recently. He and Billy played two duets that got the crowd all buttered. With new talent coming up all the time, the future of string band music is assuredly secure. He will be on a Planet stage before long. Debut album coming soon.
Go Wyatt!

Sisters Natalie and Brittany Haas have recorded a duo disc under the watchful eye of Dave Sinko. Full of fiddle and cello as you would expect. It’s titled “Haas” and will be out on May 26. Check out the first cut “Free Space/ Reel for Dennis”

I’m thinking in memory of Dennis Cahill.

AJ Lee and Blue Summit have a new record in the can, coming out soon. They have several CO dates in the near future. Go AJ!

Emerging phenoms, Crying Uncle have a new git player and are causing quite the ruckus. Miles and Teo Quayle started playing when they were really young (3?) and the band is cooking. They are no longer opening shows, they are headlining locally. See this kickass quartet before they blow up!

CUBG is playing in Novato for all you SFBA pipls this Sat 11/4. Opening is another brother band, the wonderfully named Cross Eyed Possum.

Stay tuned, the future is bright, at least in acoustic music. Selah!

New tune by Wyatt Ellis w/ Dominick Leslie, Justin Moses and Mike Bubb. “Happy Valley”

The long threatened Paul Kowert solo project maybe finally coming to be. Domenick Leslie let slip that he will be joining Paul and great banjoist Wes Corbett (Sam Bush Band) in the studio in the new year.

After what seems like eons, we finally may get new music from Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. A duo project from what I hear and no release date or title as of now.

We need their music more than ever right now. If we can only get Gil away from her garden…

IBMA noms announced. No huge surprises but the momentum and achievements are piling up. Billy and Molly of course but the whole scene seems to be expanding hand over fist.

Not yet at IBMA but soon…

One name you will be seeing more of is Sweet Sally, a phenomenally talented Bay Area trio. Under the kind tutelage of string master Chad Manning, they tenured in Birches Bend. Now fully fledged as a band they are really soaring. Most recently at DelFest where Ronnie sat in. Lucy, Sophia, and Claire. Watch them go!

Finally, after an eternity of waiting, Gillian and Daivd will release “Woodland” on August 23rd.

First song teased now “Empty Trainload of Sky”
