I am in New Mexico and we are getting smoked out nby the Arizona fire. Is the smoke from this fire affecting southwest Colorado??
Was pretty bad on Monday, but has been clear the past three days.
Damn! I thought this topic was about something completely different…
That’s pretty funny. There will be plenty of that kind of smoke too, I’m sure.
I’ve also been wondering if the smoke from the fires would make it to Telluride. I remember several years ago when they had fires in Colorado around Durango, and during the fest by late afternoon the smoke would start to come in. It never got too bad and was definitely visible.
As long as there is just smoke and no fire. Can’t wait for Festival!!!
Thanks, I just hope we’re bringing a big enough tarp…
I just got back from Town Park. No smoke from the AZ fire all the way back to NM until we got to Cuba.
It all depends on the wind. The prevailing wind now is from the west or WSW. This is favorable to Telluride. If the winds shift from the South could be
a problem. Presently Grants, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Belen are have Air Quality Alerts. Hot, dry, windy weather in the drought through the southwest
do not favor the firefighters through the near future. No chance for rain soon in most of AZ and NM.
With the Festivairians get older, poorer air quality, altitude, I predict well see more O2 use.
