I know, I’m getting older, fatter, and less in shape. :lol
Truth is, I had surgery on my right hand in mid April and won’t have full functionality of it for 4 to 6 months.
This makes it near impossible for me to haul my gear from the trailer to campsite and set up in less than 8 hours. :eek
I can’t afford to pay a whole lot, but a case of beer is in it if you can help unload and set up.
Another case for tear down and load after festival. :cheers
I’d really like to get unloaded as soon as possible after the land rush on Saturday so I won’t have to park miles down the road (it’s hard on my hips to walk more than a block).
Anyone interested or have someone in mind that might be? :flower
Only one response, but they didn’t realize how early I would need the help. :eek
Saturday morning June 14th.
I’m not sure how I’m going to handle things when it hurts just to lift a pound of coffee with my right hand.
Imagine going through your daily routine only using the thumb and first two fingers on one hand without the aid of your palm.
That pretty much sums up how much I can use that hand at this point in time.
I’m not sure if I’ll be able to pound in my tent stakes with my left hand without the fear of striking my right.
The main problem is that most of the people will be busy trying to unload and set up their own camps at the same time so will not be available.
Tom, I’ll see if we can spare a couple folks right after land rush and tarp placement. Once the tarps are down there may be one or two folks from Kamp Duktape who will be looking for something to do. :cheers
If TT had a vehicle pass, how close to your camp couldhe park? Is there anyway he’d be allowed to “open the gate” drive in and have a car next to his camp? Or would he need it parked by the showers, by the entrance bridge parking lot.
Seems he’s always looking out for folks, trying to secure vehicle passes for others, and overall a good friend of Telluride… weren’t those his picnic tables where I sat and had a vendor meal inside the festival grounds??
Yes, I did supply those picnic tables at the food vendors, and I will again this year. :thumbsup
A couple years ago I had a vehicle pass and didn’t like it.
After camping in my same spot for 25 years or so I felt totally disconnected.
Where I camp (in the Bear Creek Preserve) no vehicles are allowed and I’ve always tent camped in Telluride except for that one time.
Since it’s getting difficult to walk much of a distance without taking a break I need to be one of the first to unload gear so I’m not parked up the hill by the cemetery like I was last year.
To top it off, my scooter appears to have a problem and I don’t have time and money to get it repaired.
I think I’ve got enough help now getting set up.
The next hurdle will be tearing down and loading to get out on Monday.
Thank you, fellow festivarians for coming to my aid. :flower
i am more than happy to assist such an honored dignitary in any way possible but i’ll be in town Weds until Mon. I may be able to assist with tear down?
we’re driving from NH … arriving in Telluride by june 14 … we’ll be setting up basecamp in Town Park … maybe not early enough for landrush but we’ll find a happy home
if we see you we’ll offer to help … no need to reimburse us with beer … should be able to help you break down post fest …
we’ll be hiking nearby for a few days once we set up basecamp … looking forward to a great trip !
I sent e-mails to your two different addresses but haven’t heard from you.
One in your post and one in your profile.
Did you get them? :huh
Maybe they’re in your spam folder.
