Cool! I was in Eagle River in my last visit … but traveled a bit towards Minocqua to “Blink Bonnies” for dinner one evening … and even their (frozen) pizza option was only sausage. I think I had a salad, but my brother told me they had great steaks!
Hopefully, Baked in Telluride will be open by bluegrass … which has a lot of vegetarian options.
thanks again all for the suggestions. I like the name Baked, chances are there will be veggie options.
3poppies, glad to hear you are back on the wagon. I am sure I will be cooking different veggie meals if you want to cook up a feast together. Not sure what I will be cooking up yet, but some of my past camping meals have been coconut curry stir fry, seitan philly cheese steaks, pasta with veggies and fake meatballs, tofu scramble, taco night, etc.
jeff- I will be in town park as well. I would love to share some cooking and food with you…sounds like you have an extensive menu! I have another “veggie” friend who will also be in town park…the more the merrier, right? :cheers
You folks need to head down to Camp Billy, in the bowl, (just ask anyone once you arrive) and look for the tepee, yes, a real live tepee. Several folks that camp down there ride the same wagon and can probably give you tons of tips for dinning in town.
Now, would it be possible to refrain from the use of the word “fake” in conjunction with the word “bacon”. It’s just… just… well, a four letter word… and Hooch’s therapist bill isn’t getting any lower… :evil
Nice, good tips on veggie places! If anyone wants to set up a vegetarian friendly potluck up in Lawson lemme know; we’re working out a menu this weekend.
For the record tho, after all the bacon talk I’ve enured on this forum I’m not leavin happy without some of that greezy goodness. Who am I kidding, I’ve wanted a slab at least once a week for 5 years. :drool :pig
:cow
Also I agree with the swanson guy - vegan bacon has no place in civilized society. Whatever they put in it has got to be worse than what they feed the pig…
Gepetto- Find me… I’ll have a lb bacon waiting for you… Good bacon… Made with so much extra care- it’s probably vegetarian( they treat the pigs as humanely as possible)… They even have a special “nursery” for the little pigs to play together during the day…
While I missed Telluride last year, I have been coming since 1998 as a vegetarian and have always found yummy things. Hopefully Diggity Dog is still across from Elks Park. I have missed that for 23 months now. And the Bloody Mary at Floradora (I think)- that constitues vegetables for me.
And I hope to bring vegetarian collards from South Carolina for the pot luck on Wednesday night.
Rad, thanks Debbie! I’ll hunt you down for sure. I actually googled that farm you guys mentioned on another thread, and they do indeed look like an example of doing it right :flower funny how a vegetarian thread has led to me jonesin for bacon :evil
