Is this a performance, workshop? Sounds pretty cool.
Last year it was a full-blown concert. A fun one, too! Although if I have to sit next to a bunch of rude, talky brats like I did last year, I might have to be very unfestivarian towards them. Sorry…had a very trying week. Maybe a few days at altitude will mellow me out. Is it Sunday yet???
hope it wasnt us I’ve been discussing ettiquete (spelling??) and respecting others with my 4 and 7 year old all week.
No, they were definitely not kids! I’m cool with kids - I love to see them having fun and enjoying the music. These were 20s-ish adults who were yelling over the music at each other. Yuck.
It started as them just playing as many drinking songs as they could. Not sure what it had evolved into over the past couple of years.
Whenever I deal with people who talk a lot during concerts, I simply lick my finger and stick it in the ear of the worst offender.
Ha!!! I’ll do that next time. Thanks!
This was one of my highlights from last year. A ton of fun and the birth of…AHOY!

At least I think that’s where Ahoy started. :lol
That’s exactly where “Ahoy!” started. It was fun to hear that yelled at every Punch Bros. show I’ve gone to since then.
At the end of the day, it was kind of the next best thing to seeing them in the Sheridan and one of my favorite sets of the 38th TBF – fewer people, smaller stage, more intimate show. People were CRAMMED into Elks Park for it, so if you’re intent on having space for the show, I’d get there early. Bring a flask (or don’t, if that’s not cool), get in the spirit, etc.
Oh I will be early. I’m going to check out the Lake Street Dive performance since I’m likely to miss First Grass getting settled in.
I’m also definitely going to that workshop with Sarah Jarosz and Tim O’Brien. She will find me good looking and charming hopefully.
