Preliminary 2012 lineup

“BUT, I will say, our “preliminary lineup” already features more grammy nominations than any festival in the country will approach. I guess that’s not very humble.”

:lol :lol :lol
Probably true even if you take Bela out of that mix! :thumbsup

Thanks for the peak at 2012, Ferg!

I love every bit of this lineup. Love kd! And Bruce? I know he was there before but it will be my first time. yee haw! And anything Tim! Oh yeah! :thumbsup

:wave

We love you too, Ferg. You go and enjoy that white gold Telluride is known for!

I’d love to see some photos of that delicious gravy that has blessed the San Juan’s so far this year. (I took the 10 hr trip to Wolf Creek about a month ago and it was stupendous!)

Happy Holidays, y’all!

:thumbsup

Aha! He’s given us another clue. :flower
Now the question is who?

I think I got that clue…

Oh no! I hurt Mr. Ferguson’s feelings in only my 2nd post on the festivarian forum. Sorry man, that’s sacrilegious! The line-up is great as is, however, I was just hoping for a HUGE announcement right off the bat. I appreciate that you’re trying to persuade me(which if you do, would be my 9th TBF in a row), but I just need a little extra(it’s a big investment). Can we get at the very least, a lil hint? I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Neil Young(or Buffalo Springfield), Ryan Adams(again, but acoustic), SCI, Wilco, White Denim, Willie Nelson. The list goes on and on.

I would kill for a Jay Farrar project to be involved in one of the announcements. Kill.

White Denim!??

what the heck, man?

I love the band, but for TBF…come on…

And SCI,…no way does the family want to put up with those kind of freaks that music brings…maybe before 2002 when they were still good.

Phish doing an all bluegrass show would be a better idea, and that is still not a good presence at the fest.

Agreed, though it would be cool to see SCI, I feel the same way. And Phish shows are epic in their own right…no need to bring down hordes of the “unticketed” upon us. Not to mention the nitrous mafia nitwits.

C’mon Bro Piscapo, it doesn’t hurt to have some variety at a music festival. I’m sorry you harbor ill feelings towards SCI and their fans, but you’re wrong. I agree that from 2004- up until Nov of this year, SCI wasn’t good. Have you heard any recordings from their recent tour though? They’re killing it now! As far as their fans go; they’re much better people(as a whole) than Phish fans. So you wouldn’t be down for the others on my wish list as well?(Neil Young, Ryan Adams, Willie, Wilco, Bon Iver)

Let me make my formal request as well for a lack of SCI and Phish. Not to hate, but no thanks. I guess there’s a time and a place for them…but I hope the Planet agrees TBG is neither.

I’m really starting to feel this Bruce Hornsby thing, the more youtube videos I watch.

Please no Ryan Adams…

I know how you feel, I was there in 2008 and walked out to find shelter from the noise back in camp. I may have even reached for the earplugs early that night. I really think something was -like medically- wrong with him at the time. There was good Ryan and bad Ryan, it was obvious that night which one we got…

But, three and a half years have passed. Recently, I bought a download of “Ashes and Fire” because of the positive reviews and I like it. I can’t believe I’m saying this, because at the time I swore I never would but…I’d be willing to give him another shot, in Telluride. :flower

See Dustin’s thread in General Discussion for a peek at good Ryan.

Please no Bon Iver… Keep that music to the Starbucks and Coffee shops.

IMO…SCI only good show this year was at the Ryman…and that was only because of Sam Bush and Friends…

There is a time and place for that following of music, and I don’t find the heavenly atmosphere of Telluride being a part of it…

I’m glad you dig your music, man. That is your style and I’m toleration and accepting to it… I hope you see the bands you want sometime soon, but leave TBF to the real hero’s.

This is the year of the Piano, I’m thinking!

Ugh. That never once crossed my mind, but I shuddered when I read it.

I do think Sam Beam and Iron and Wine would be pretty cool, though, I don’t know…

I didn’t like the Edward Sharpe fitting at all with the fest a few years back, and the Head and The Heart I found boring.

But, one to it’s own. There is some good indie bands out there, but I’d rather see them at Sasquach Fest, Pitchfork or something to that liking.

I come for the bluegrass, and nothing can top the experience of seeing The House Band.

Sam Bush, alone, will have me returning every year.

Sorry if I sounded bitter or jaded earlier…long week.

I’m still stoked, mostly because the I keep seeing the message to “get those 4 day passes now, if you haven’t already”!!!

I’m going to throw a request in for SCI. I absolutely adore them and would love to see them show up. Plus, we could get an Emmit-Nershi workshop or nightgrass.
