Please get these guys for next year

:evil
I’m a twenty year veteran of Bluegrass. You MUST get Here Come The Mummies for next year for one of your 8 o’clock timeslots. They are a group of Nashville session guys - many of them Grammy winners - who play in this band anonymously for the pure love of R&B. For a good sample go to their website, click on Video, and then click on “Attack of the Wiener Man.” Guaranteed to make you smile. Fits nicely into T’ride’s eclectic mix.

Not sure they’d fit in but I have some friends down the street that play in their garage that you may be interested in for Telluride. They are excellent and always draw a crowd of passerbyers, I think a Saturday night slot on the Shellman stage would be killer. They’re talking about getting a myspace page, I’ll let you know! :lol

Must disagree. For a stage that has hosted Taj Mahal, Johnny Cash and Talking Heads there is no such thing as “fitting in.” It’s about top level musicianship. Peace.

The only difference between your guys and the Man In Black, Taj and I guess you mean David Bryne is well over a 100 years of playing music and millions of records sales. Not that your guys suck but bands with session players come and go.

?! Madonna has also sold millions of records. Shall we put her on the bill too?

If she was willing to grass it up a bit, sure! :stuck_out_tongue:
:cheers

I’ll vouch for the Mummies chops.

They’ve been playing in/around Nashville for years.

Not saying they’ll be on the bill, but for those of you doubting, they are worth checking out.

:flower

After watching one of their video’s it made me think of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy without the crazy costumes.
I saw BBVD in 1999 at Strawberry in California and they put on a great show. :cheers

For the record, I really enjoyed their videos and dig the music, but think they’d be a better fit for either Blues and Brews or Jazzfest more so than the Bluegrass festival. That being said, I will probably check them out if they are ever passing through on tour.

The more I think about it, having Madonna there would be good ONLY if she would do a workshop downtown. Maybe have her do a little something with Sammy. Or have her bring her daughter (Lady GaGa) along for a duet. Material World or Like a Virgin done with mandos and banjos would really bring it on home.
