Hello, Is there any way we could see pics of the damage, and the ongoing rebuilding process? I hope I am not alone when it comes to being real curious about whats going on both on the grounds, and maybe Meadow park. I kind of expected all of us bluegrass/Planet Bluegrass lovers to jump in and try to lend a helping hand after the flood. What I did not expect was how well the town of Lyons has pulled together to form a really tight knit town that helps their neighbor when they need it. Instead of falling apart after being nearly destroyed, like so many other tows and communities.
One other thing I would like to note. For any company that had sustained major damage after a horrendous flood. To come out and tell everyone, not to send them donations. Send all donations to the “Lyons Community Foundation” because they need it worse. Is a direct statement of not only the quality of Planet Bluegrass, but also the size of the hearts of everyone involved with the Planet. I feel honored to even have the chance to be just a volunteer with a company that has demonstrated how “it should be done” in the face of disaster.

Don’t know of any pics of the rebuilding, but here’s a link to a recent newspaper article on the revival of the Lyons music scene. Go about halfway down and there’s a crazy aerial picture of Planet Bluegrass at the height of the floods, with the St Vrain running in front of the main stage. I’m hoping to get to Lyons myself this weekend for the first time in a while - really want to see how things are doing there.
Drove by last weekend. Pretty wild stuff. South campground was mounds of dirt. Yonder Mountain’s 12/30 show at Boulder Theater is all going to help the Planet.
Thanks for the info. I had seen that video before when it first came out. Was just completely nuts there. Thanks to Mile-High skydive for using their Twin Otter jump plane for the aerial photography. But even then it was hard to see any of the damage left behind. Especially on the festival grounds. I was just hoping the Planet had some pics of everything that has happened that they would like to share. Maybe an ongoing recovery album or something similar to that. But with ticket time coming I'm sure everyone at the Planet is,,,,well,,,kind of busy. :concert Wish I could be there for Yonder on 12/30, should be a great performance. Jamestown is down to about 20 people living there for the winter, but everyone is working extra hard to keep the community together and vibrant. Fires? Blizzards? floods??? BAH! Give us your best, Mother Nature…we’ll stick it out together
