Hey now Festivarian friends…summer is coming to a close, but it is still festival season. Hope to see many of you in Pagosa this year…and, more importantly, I hope to see many of you in Flagstaff, AZ September 14 - 16 for our second annual Pickin’ in the Pines Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Festival. Lara, Dwayne and I have been helping to organize this year’s festival, and we’re really psyched to see a lot of our festivarian friends come support it. Weekend passes are only $60, and a camping pass is $15. There’s no fee for vehicle passes! We’ve got a stellar line up including David Grisman Bluegrass Experience, Kruger Brothers, Chatham County Line, Sweet Sunny South, Boulder Acoustic Society and many more. The venue is amazing - brand new and state-of-the-art. And, the camping is a short walk or shuttle ride to the amphitheater. The tiki bar will be set up in the campground, and we’ll be celebrating Dwayne’s birthday with a big potluck dinner on Saturday evening. :cheers Bands should check out our contest - $1,000 first prize! Visit our web site www.pickininthepines.org for more info, or you can send me an email directly if you have questions. Looking forward to seeing you in Pagosa… and, hopin’ to see you here in my home town too:) :wave
Michelle,
You’re not the only one lookin’ forward to PiP. I’m planning on coming out with the Squash Blossom Boys. They’re in the band contest. But FIRST, we’ll see you in Pagosa! I’m psyched!
Love,
Bevin
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!! Mucho festivating with Bevin in September:) BTW…remind the Squash Blossom Boys that they need to resend their check for the compettion… I had to send it back cuz they forgot to sign it…at least I think that was them…I’m overwhelmed…in addition to totally psyched! See you soon…
But, Cortney, Darling… you must join us… I need to know that you can find your way to Flagstaff! I think Benay’s friend, Lisa, from LA might be coming…maybe you can car pool??? I love and miss you!
What is the schedule like? Could I just show up Sat night, find a spot and just do Sunday? Could I sleep in my car if I didnt feel like doing the whole tent thing? Would you all have any extra spaces in your campsite for a late arrivel??? etc etc etc…
In case you haven’t heard, podcasts are basically radio shows made to listen to on your computer or a portable mp3 player, like an iPod. I was invited to put one together, and decided the first one should be about Pickin’ in the Pines. So go take a listen, and let me know what you think.
Debbie, if you show up Sat night…you will Grisman, but there is still a great line up on Sunday. There will be plenty of camping room…the camping is a lot like Pagosa…in the trees…unless you have an RV…then there is a big ole’ parking lot to park in…we’ll set the tiki bar up near the front of the camping area, so you can’t miss us!
Hi Dave! Welcome to the forum - and an advanced welcome to Pickin’ in the Pines! Come say hello… I’ll be the one running around like a mad woman…or dancing like a mad woman:) Are you planning to camp? If so, you can’t miss our crew in the campground…the Tiki Bar! Come on by. Let me know if you need any other information.
