A couple of inches of snow may have brought the country to a halt but the tickets to our first Telluride arrived this week.
Getting excited again…
Now, is it in D Andy?

You start it in whatever key you want and I’ll join in (in whatever key I want).
Sounds like jazz to me.
One step closer still! Camping and vehicle pass sorted.
Key of G underway now 12!
Flights are booked! So that’s it, we’ve just got to make sure we’ve learnt some favourite tunes of the festival and we’re there.
OOOh, double stops 12!
I don’t think you’ll find many pickers playing in G - it’s such a difficult key for the b*njo.
We prefer Bbm7
Well that’s pretty cool. I just did a search for that chord and found a huge new resource. That plays the chord so you can see and hear it… very cool.
Nice picture Adam :wave
Adam, would that be with a diminished 11th?
----> with tongue firmly in cheek
You got me… lately i’ve just been sticking to the key of D

(D sesqui-sharp) in the 31 tone equal tempered scale… 12 tone is for wusses!
What did he say :lol Now I’m really scared… big show off :lol :hug :dog
if it sounds strange
play that chord/note(s)
3 times
and you might end up playing some cool jazz…
Me and my favorite piano player have been working around the Circle of Sharp 6th’s. Its sounds the best when you use The Minor 7 flat five. Over this I drum solo. It sounds very very pretty :flower :flower
Me and my favourite piano player have been working round the … local pizza shop.
When we get enough tips we’re gonna buy a tuner … that should be a start.
So what you’re saying is I need Ninja-scales and chords before TBF! :lol
Camping and vehicle pass arrived Saturday. Just packing and practising to do now! Circle of 6ths? Bm7th flattened 3rd?
That flettened third will kind sorta sound sour if you don’t warn anyone, otherwise you look like your preparations are going just fine.
:peace
So, if I nod in an exaggerated fashion when I feel a flattened 3rd coming on…that’ll be ok? Trouble is, it’s not always apparent to me when it’s going to happen, is that a problem?
Tony, Tony, Tony (said in the style of “Oh Tim!”)
If you’re just throwing in a flattened third, it’s going to give it a minor flavour which will sound odd or even wrong against a major chord progression.
Now if you want to add flavour … or is that flavor in the US? you might want to play a few ‘blue’ (or worried) notes but that means flattened third, fifth and sevenths. Listen to some Bill Monroe to hear how it should be done … or me to hear how it shouldn’t.
By TBF, I’m sure that you will have the rest of the campsite watching in disbelief (take it whichever way you want). :lol
Listen, after yesterday, it’s questionable whether I need to learn any flattened 3rds, 5ths or sevenths. In fact, by 4pm I was going to have two hands free as I board the plane!
AAAHHHUMMM, could someone please direct me to the F,C,G,D,A jam tent :rolleyes :rolleyes :lol
