On Site Camping

Howdy folks!

I have a few questions about on-site camping, I am sure that they have been answered before. sorry for the repeat if so.
We are wanting to do OSC south, we are coming with a few kids ranging from 6 - 12. We did laVern last time and felt like we missed out on the fun in the evening. The kids had a blast though. But the walking was a lot for mid day breaks and evenings and all that good stuff.
What is the load in situation like? How early do you need to arrive to get a decent spot (shaded) specifically in OSC south?

Onsite is awesome, you’ll love it! It’s definitely louder at night so being earplugs but I promise you’ll have lots of fun.

Tons of info here on load in: On-Site Campground Load-In Procedures — Planet Bluegrass • Colorado Music Festivals & Concerts • Lyons, CO

That part is definitely a little more stressful but if you just go with the flow it definitely works out. I would say about 30% of this campground is shaded so you will need to be relatively lucky with the number draw to get that. But even if you’re in the sun the river cools things down a fair bit.

Happy to answer any other questions you have!

I will have a printed vehicle pass but need to get a wristband at will-call for camping and the shows. Where do I go first when I get to the fest? Can I park at the campground then walk to the box office?

Howdy!

Go through the load-in procedure as mentioned above and then once you get settled you can go over to the box office to get your wristband and vehicle pass sticker (you’ll trade in your pdf for the sticker). There’s a little downtime with the load-in procedure so if you want, you can swing by the box office during that time as well but they don’t limit your entry to the campground if you don’t have your wristband/vehicle pass yet.

Check out this map to orient yourself: https://bluegrass.com/rockygrass/festival-info/RGMap

The Box Office opens on Thursday, the day before the Festival starts. On Festival days, it opens one hour before gates open and closes when the final act of the day goes on-stage.
