I don’t know about y’all (well, some of y’all I DO know about) but I’ve got some unusual items on my packing list for Bluegrass.
There are plenty of posts with comprehensive packing lists but I’m wondering what are the top 2 or 3 items on your Telluride list that you think you can’t live without and which are probably not on most folks’ regular checklist for a camping trip. As a community, we tend to take camping things that most people would never consider taking on a trip in the woods.
Here’s a few of mine:
Chicken suit
Ladder
Low voltage electrical distribution system and solar charging array
What sorts of crazy stuff are you bringing? Maybe there’s something on your list that I need and didn’t know I needed!
At first I thought this read " chicken salt", ok, I thought, Bevin cooks chips…but it’s a chicken suit? A chicken suit? Um, hello Bevin, I’m invited to stay at Camp Run A Muk aren’t i? Do we all wear suits? Um, what am I?
BTW, the oddest thing im packing is a box of caramel chocolate bears but now you’ve got me thinking. I do have my Magenta outfit from Rocky Horror, should I pack it?
BTW, you’re invited to stay at Kamp Duk Tape. You were only invited to drink and get your ass slapped at Camp Run-A-Muck. But you’ll be watching the tarp run from Camp Run-A-Muck on Thursday, just so you can get your bearings on Day 1. (We will make some “tarp run viewing plans” prior to Thursday).
Please bring some Chicken Salt if you have any - I’ve never tried it and I’d like to know if it’s as good in a Bloody Mary as Celery Salt. :cheers
ps - If you want to do the tarp run on Friday Saturday or Sunday, or if you just get a little chilly at night, you can borrow my chicken suit any time. Given the length and scope of your State-side adventure, I’d think you may prefer to leave the costumes at home and travel light(er) :flower
Electric scooter (I don’t think I’ll do any wheelies in it this year).
Fly fishing gloves (to protect the back of my hands from sunburn while riding the scooter)
Solar panel, charge controller and deep cycle battery (for charging my scooter)
3 folding picnic tables (two of which will be placed by the food vendors so people can sit and eat)
And of course my straw top hat.
:thumbsup
I also usually bring an extra head light for the unfortunate soul who forgot one. A few years ago I forgot one and Benay gave me her extra. I think that one ended up with Karlos at Targhee that year. There’s no telling which forgetful festivarian has possession of it now.
C’mon, Pirate, only Hippie is able to pack a “foot slave”…all others must be bagged in the tie dyed burlap, during the midnight hunts into the dark shadows of The Preserve.
I thought everyone knew that, especially you? :cheers
