So they have 10 Town Park passes, 4 Warner Field Passes, AND 10 TOWN PARK VEHICLE PASSES. How could they possibly have 10 vehicle passes?

And they say they may be able to get additional vehicle passes?!?!

I was shocked

I’m thinking scam probably. I certainly wouldn’t trust it. And if it is legit, there is definitely a problem somewhere.

In the ticket resale game, this is called spec’ing.
The seller doesn’t necessarily have the tickets, though they are representing they do.
They are predicting they can fulfill the tickets sometime before the event takes place.

I am sure there will be some actual tickets up on stubhub after the TBF sale, but brokers are already spec’ing both 4 day and single day tickets already, knowing in full that they don’t actually have tickets yet to fulfill. → https://www.stubhub.com/telluride-bluegrass-festival-tickets/grouping/407648/

I get that somewhat, considering the prices. Especially for the camping passes. I just find it odd that anyone knowledgeable would have any expectation that they could come up with almost a third of the Town Park vehicle passes. Ebay isn’t like Stubhub where they can just cancel the transaction if they don’t come up with the ticket and Stubhub doesn’t really care. If someone purchases his vehicle passes on Ebay he is expected to immediately produce the passes. If he doesn’t then ebay does care. Ebay still gets their commission even if he issues a refund, so it will cost him almost $100 for every pass he doesn’t come up with. And if the buyer didn’t agree to a refund instead of the passes the seller is dinged (not feedback but an internal score). He could get away with it once or twice, but ebay does care if he starts refunding a bunch of his auctions. Wouldn’t necessarily be surprised to see this on Stubhub, just not Ebay. I’d be way more concerned that he is selling the same pass over and over than I’d be that he is just speculating.

This would not work for tickets, but here’s an idea for vehicle passes. Since there are only
a handful of them, if you win, why not just have PB hold them at the campground, and you can
show up with proper ID and pick them up. That way the person that wins the lottery has to
either claim them, or they would have to go through PB to reassign them to another person. None
of these solutions would appeal to scalpers.

I like your idea Buckeye!
