So now we have the full line-up (and what a line-up!) What does everyone want to see for the nightgrass line up? What do you think we’ll get?
Predictions:
Wed - Yonder @ Conference Center
Thu- Leftover Salmon @ Sheridan, Nickel Creek @ Palm
Fri - Yonder @ Sheridan, Keller & The McCourys @ Palm, Peter Rowan @ Fly me to the Moon
Sat - Greensky @ Sheridan, Dave Rawlings Machine @ Palm, Chatham County Line @ Fly me to the Moon
Sun - Punch Bros @ Sheridan
Personally I would love to see Yonder, Salmon and Greensky at the Palm so that it would be easier to get tickets. Can’t see Yonder playing anywhere other than the Sheridan though. Perhaps for the other two. Also wouldn’t mind if Greensky were on a night other than Saturday so it didn’t overlap with Salmon closing the main stage, as damn, that would be a tough show to leave early…
Assuming we need to know about your pet peeves is one of mine???
Agreed with Greensky at the Palm. :thumbsup Everyone was up and dancing in the rows and aisles last year. Theatre setting didn’t take away from the experience at all.
Point taken. I considered using a single ?, but I figured it was pretty common knowledge that nightgrass would not be announced until early April and that !'s would not result in confusion. I wanted to use !'s to convey my excitement. Exactly three !'s as I feel that denotes a maximum level of excitement and that a fourth would have been superfluous. On reflection the ?!? sandwich was probably the way to go.

The Palm was a great venue for Greensky. I wasn’t so sure when I walked in but it was perfect. And the trading of instruments with other/former band mates was outstanding.
Also, I enjoyed seeing Pert Near at FMTTM even though they didn’t make the main stage. Maybe we will get another artist that just plays Nightgrass.
I would really like to see a show at the Sheridan, didn’t win any lottery last year, though the shows at the Palm were perfect for me. I went all 3 nights. Though what I did not know was how the headliner overlaps with Nightgrass. That’s rough for me. My fear is that Salmon will take place on the same night as the Greensky Nightgrass show… :huh :cheers :wave
Nightgrass and the closing act at the mainstage overlap a bit, but not too much. Let’s say Greensky does play a nightgrass show Saturday night. You would still be able to catch all of Salmon and head over to Greensky. You’d miss some of Greenksy, but would likely still get there in time for the second half of the first set.
It always feels like nightgrass shows tend to start…erm…later than the schedule might indicate…Musicians. :rolleyes :lol
So, if you stay for the headliner, you shouldn’t miss too much. :thumbsup
Though, honestly, all bets are off for Punch Brothers on Sunday Night. If you’re lucky enough to score those, you’ve got a tough decision to make. Del/Alison and the House Band…wow!
I still might sneak out early, Punch puts on an mind-boggling show there.
Wow, didn’t realize RRE was touring with Yonder? … although kind of makes it harder to digest in so far as PB knowing about their co-bill tour and then maybe saying “sorry, not this year for RRE @ TBF” … although who knows, maybe RRE declined for some reason. RRE is also not present @ the Northwest String Summit too (btw, was at Hornings Hideout last year for the first time to see SCI, very cool venue to say the least!).
Yeah I would have loved to see railroad on the bill. Just caught a couple of shows in PDX and they were some of the best shows I have seen in a while. I think Railroad actually are playing String Summit this year. The line up is absolutely stacked - Yonder X3, Greensky X2, RRE, Sam Bush, Dusters, The Motet, and of course Danny Barnes and Darol Anger. Between that and TBF it’s going to be a fun couple months!
Yeah, Railroad is on the lineup. I’m thinking about heading out that way this summer to support The Lil Smokies who won the band contest last year. Those guys are kicking some serious ass. They just released a live album that is simply incredible. Check them out!
