Hi -
First timer…I have read the FAQ a million times… and for the regular GA line (I’m staying at a lodge in Telluride, not camping)… it sounds like just a regular GA, first come, first in situation. So obviously I’m missing the point of the numbers. (Are they random?) It’s just my husband and I so I want to make sure we are prepared for a lot of line sitting if necessary. Thank you!
The reason for the randomized numbers is so that no one needs to be camped out in line. Get there in the AM grab your # from one of the lovely designated volunteer who will be obvious. File in line wait for the William Tell Overture to start then yell scream skip or run to your desired spot after setting your tarp youll need to high-five a t-rex (its kind of a requirement) then make lifelong friends with your neighbors and share a beer. hope this helps … festival!
Thank you! Ok, this is what I thought! I’m very excited about the T-Rex!
Unless it’s new for this year, I think the numbers are only random on the campground side. For the line on the town side I think the numbers are still passed out in order. You will hand them your number as you go into the festival. For two people you don’t really need a number, just get in line 30 minutes or so before the gates open and you’ll get a spot where you can see just fine, and you can always walk up to the front if there is an act you want to get a little closer to.

As @KMurf mentioned, things are different on the Town Park/Warner Field side from GA.
Thanks for the clarification you guys
