New Warner Field land grab rules

thanks for the info . no matter what happens it should be a great time . CAN’T WAIT FOR TELLURIDE !!

Somebody please save me a spot in center field for three tents and a popup…

They are talking about the campers who have Warner Field tickets. Town Park is different. The box office is located over by the post office. I’m sure anyone who is already in town on Tuesday can go over and get exchange their tickets for wristbands and not have to wait in a line there. The only glitch I can see in this new plan is if someone is there all ready to get their camping spot, but someone else arriving later has their tickets or they are under a different name at will call, thereby preventing them from getting the wristband required to bring the gear in.

I encourage everyone to read whatever you can find on the website, starting with the Warner Field Load-in page at Load-In Policy — Planet Bluegrass • Colorado Music Festivals & Concerts • Lyons, CO

The more complicated parts of those rules only apply if you are trying to line up before the gates open at 9 AM Wed morning. In general, no, you don’t have to walk a mile (uphill both ways?) carrying all of your camping gear.

The only reason to go anywhere near Warner Field before 9 AM Wed would be to stand in line so that you can be one of the first to get in there to get your special spot. Judging from the new rules, apparently in the past, people doing this have been parking and camping illegally in town, causing problems for the people who live there. Some of you are excited enough to want to get there early and stand in line – you do you! – but it is not required.

After the initial rush, the normal procedure is to drive to the box office to get your wristbands (unless you have them already), then to Warner Field, where a volunteer will write a time on your windshield, and you’ll have 20-30 minutes to unload, and then you’ll move your car to parking areas, to make room for everyone else. Volunteers will direct you to parking that is free, and likely outside of town with a shuttle or gondola to get you back. Maps on the website can help you find the box office and Warner Field Maps — Planet Bluegrass • Colorado Music Festivals & Concerts • Lyons, CO

I have never made it to Warner Field any earlier than 5 PM Wed afternoon, and I’ve always found a space. As others have noted, you’ll see people moving in throughout the festival.

Those of you who are planning to be there for the tarp run, please do consider all your fellow Festivarians, and only take up the amount of space you and your friends need!

LOL, I only just realized that I wrote all that on a 14 year old post! Oh, well.
