about how far from Mountainside Inn to festival grounds? - any reviews from anyone staying there before?
Also if there is any downtime in the mornings can someone recommend a good hike from town without having to drive (or a short hop from town) )
Last year we were planning on hiking up to the infamous waterfall but never got around to it. I hear tell the free Telluride bus takes you to the end of the town and the trail sarts some where around there, it’s a two to four hour round trip. But this is all hearsay. The town of Telluride is in the middle of mad fourteeners and mount shneffels is the easiest of them, you do have to drive park and hike four hour round trip.
The best hikes from town are Jud Wiebe that starts at the north end of Aspen street, the River Corridor trail that starts at, um, the river, and Bear Creek, that starts at the south end of Pine. No climbing along the river, fairly steep on the other 2, but each has great rewards. Enjoy!
I’ve stayed at Mountainside many times. Their rooms very in size from multi-room to studio apartment/hotel room sized. All are pretty nice but not the Marriott. It’s maybe a 10 minute walk (along the river trail) to the festival. Nice walk.
