New to TBF - Parking and Seating

Been wanting to attend TBF for years…and got my tix today for 2025. Staying about an hour outside of Telluride and will commute in each day. What’s the best strategy for timing and parking? I’ve been reading some threads but not familiar with the area. Also regarding the tarp run - if on Thursday we show up after the tarp run, how far away from the stage will we be? Or should we suck it up and do the tarp run?

Tarp run is part of the fun, and it happens every morning. I’d suggest showing up just after the tarp run, if it’s only a few of you, and you’ll find a decent spot. Learn the lay of the land, and do the tarp run on Friday or Saturday, as those days will have more people. The only parking will be up in Mountain Village, where you’ll ride the Gondola down into Telluride, and walk to the festival grounds, about 10 minute walk, 15 minute ride, and depending on time of day there could be a long line for the Gondola.

Thanks very much. Do the tarps all get picked up every night? it seemed to me that the tarp run was a saved spot for the whole festival. Does the Mountain Village parking ever fill up? if so, what are the options if you can’t get in? When is a safe time to arrive in order to park and see most of that day’s music?

I’ve never driven in for the day so can’t answer that. Pretty sure it doesn’t fill up, just be further away. Tarps get pulled every evening.I’d say you’d want to be in Telluride by 10am everyday, which would mean you’d probably need to be parked before 9am. Or try and get lodging in Mountain village and avoid the driving!

Thanks again. We’re staying with a bunch of us in Ridgway…about 50 minutes away. Waited too long to look for in town lodging, and it’s ridiculously expensive. Camping is not in the cards. I appreciate your help!
