Listening to the new MCK album, The Ash & Clay. Just wondering what others might think of it.
I thought of Simon & Garfunkle. I thought of mellow. R E A L mellow. I thought of taking a nap. I thought of a nice T-ride breeze blowing thru the Town park trees on a sunny day and zz.zzzz.zzzzzzzz.zzzzzzz…z.zzzzzzzzz…
HUH? What happened!?!?!? Did I miss Sam Bush?
I totally agree about the R E A L mellow sound. That said, I really like them, in a background music while I’m sipping my coffee and reading the Sunday newspaper in the sun, sort of way. I’ve been meaning to check out some of their live stuff but haven’t made time to do so yet.
Elephant Revival’s studio stuff is pretty mellow but they have blown me away every time I’ve seen them live. Maybe I’ll find the same to be true of MCK.
:wave I also agree about the calm, mellowness of the MCK. I saw them open for Punch Brothers on 12/12/12 @ 1st Ave here in Mpls. Their schtick inbetween songs was great comedy, and kept the show interesting, but I haven’t latched on to the tunes as yet…maybe I was too pumped for the P-Bros? I’m happy to have them play @ TBF-XXXX, and look forward trying it again. I loved watching and hearing their guitars. :cheers
I’ve seen them twice and liked them both times. I get the Simon and Garfunkel vibe, but you have to throw in the David Rawlings guitar style. Then it’s perfect. And yes their patter is really funny.
I like their stuff alot, great harmonies, and guitar
reminds me of a modern day, young, John and Paul from liverpool
their songs will sound great in the valley…
I like their sound too! :thumbsup
