Live Vinyl Record Cutting at TBF??

Hi everyone, my name’s Mike and I run www.MobileVinylRecorders.com - We go out to events and festivals and cut vinyl records live on site, usually for big corporate clients and huge artists (Justin Timberlake, Flaming Lips, Isley Brothers, etc), but this year, we are having our Fifth Annual North American Record Cutters Guild meetup in Ouray at the same time as TBF, and we thought it would be fun to come over the mountain on June 20th and setup a couple lathes and cut some folks straight to vinyl for donation.

Anybody have connections in Telluride for a place with some space we could set up and get some electricity? Or maybe a shop/bar/cafe that would want to sponsor us?

for more info, check out all of my different sites: www.MichaelDixonVinylArt.com

Thanks!

Hope you can be there!!
I would certainly donate and cut some songs :cheers

This is so cool. I’m a regular vinyl junkie, so please keep folks posted here if you will be doing things.

It would be very cool if you could team up with Planet Bluegrass at the Elks Park stage in town and cut records there. I’m really interested in this.

Hey everyone, so we got ahold of the Festival and got added officially as a workshop on Thursday, June 20th from 2-3pm. I’ll be doing a presentation about the art and science of record cutting and a direct to disc cutting demo with Jim James. Then we will tear down, drag everything down to the library and set up a cutting booth from 4-7 and record anyone who wants to come play, direct to disc. Sliding scale donation style

Here is the FB event. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share this with any of your friends coming to the festival and help us get the word out. https://www.facebook.com/events/327725384573304

Thanks! Mike.

Where is the workshop? Elks park?

Yes, Elks Park Stage, 2-3pm on Thursday June 20th, 2019.

This is very cool. I’d love to see the workshop!..And possibly do the first vinyl recording of the Crunchy Frog disclaimer being read! I need someone with one of those cheesy old-timey radio commercial voices. I’d name names, but I don’t want to offend.

Hoovh, if you read, we will bring the RaM house band to back you up. OK
