First time campers at Laverne Johnson this year and wondering how crazy it is with the line on Wednesday morning starting at 6:00 a.m.? I know that the gates open at 9:30 and it’s basically a tarp run to pick a patch of grass to set up tents. Can anyone share their experience and advice? Is it possible for us to actually get one of the regular sites or usually are they already booked by people on the night before?
The regular sites will all be booked and filled up. I personally have never done the tarp run, but I feel like if you get there at 6 or closer to 930 your spot wont improve too much. You will still be in the middle of the grass field. The earlier the better I suppose, maybe you can be nearer the river and steal some morning shade. Either way have a great festival!
