This is my first Rockygrass and I am so excited! We are camping Friday to Sunday and were wondering if we would even get a spot for a 12 person tent? We also have friends in Lyons that could put a tarp down for us, could that also be an option?
Squeezing in with such a big tent on Friday could be a challenge. Your friends can try throwing down a tarp but they’d probably need to get a number in the lottery on Thursday.

I’m guessing thewiz’s answer was thinking about on-site camping, not Lavern Johnson, as they talked about a lottery on Thursday. Lavern Johnson opens on Wednesday. A 12 person tent in Lavern Johnson on Friday isn’t guaranteed space, but it isn’t that unlikely that you’ll find plenty of space. You’ll be in the middle of the field, in the hot sun for sure.
