I realize this forum isn’t especially active right now, so this may be a long shot, but I’m seeking some advice from anyone who has participated in the TBF Lampshade Parade, especially those who customized their own headpiece!
What method(s) have worked well for you to adapt your lampshade to comfortably and securely sit on your head? I’m hoping to modify a fairly large shade for this purpose, but I haven’t chosen the shade yet. Does the bulb fitting hardware matter significantly?
For example, many of the shades I’ve considered so far have the “spider” type of fitting, and I have no idea how I would attach that to a headpiece, or how I would be able to cut it down for such a purpose.
Aiming to finish this project by 10/23/25, but no later than 10/25/25. Please share your seasoned expertise!
