KOTO stream?

Does anyone know if KOTO will be streaming this year’s TBF (both weekends)?

KOTO will offer the audio stream of the festival, as they’ve historically done. You can find it terrestrially on local stations 91.7, 89.3, 89.5 and 105.3 FM.

PB is producing a video live stream of the festival which you’ll be able to purchase.

$150 for the entire fest, both weekends. They have other packages too if you want a poster, t-shirt, sweatshirt, etc…, They have single weekend access, single day access. It should be up on their website tomorrow with prices. I am thinking I will just get the entire fest, and take a few days off!

I’m wondering if they’ll have recordings available for sale post-show. Even though I’ll be attending, I’d totally buy a copy for posterity and to relive our favorite moments!

Hi Alex … thank you for replying. Yes, I’d heard back from Ben Kerr at KOTO today, and he said "We’ll only be broadcasting the festival on our over-the-air terrestrial signal and not on our stream this year. Sorry for the inconvenience. "

In other words … there will be no internet-streaming of this years’ festival from KOTO (a vast departure from past years). We do get it … if we are not within range of local stations … then we need to purchase one of the streaming packages from PB (… which really is OK by me).

In this weird year of transition to Festivarian normal, please consider, if you will not be in-person this year, the PlanetBluegrass package with Mandolin.

Since Chris Thile began his series with Mandolin, to which I have subscribed; the organization has been steadily upping their delivery quality. The package that Sarah Jarosz did these past couple weeks demonstrates how Mandolin has learned and improved this past COVID year. Kudos to Planet Bluegrass and Mandolin to direct funds to KOTO for folks who sign in. I am looking forward to hosting a TBF party here in MI streaming the solstice weekend broadcast (I am in for the 1st weekend, but my tarp-mates won’t arrive until the next weekend.)

With these other Mandolin-based shows, they have always had a window of time where you can watch after the event; they window length has been variable. I do hope they offer the ‘replay’ option; for my own sake, being in the EDT time zone; howling at the moon +2 hours may sound like snoring.

Thanks all for the inputs/replies. I’ve purchased the live-stream for both weekends :). I do hope that someone will be doing recordings for future download.
