Many festivarins may not be familiar with his music but Jake Shimabukuro is the man on ukulele. Glad that he will make the stage at TBG. If you want a sample of what is possible with the uke, check out:

Jake was a relative unknown (at least outside Hawaii) when he first graced the Telluride stage a bunch of years ago. His first appearance was as a “tweener”, artists that fill in between major acts during the change between acts. I believe Sam Bush must have brought him in. Later during Sam’s set he came back on. The crowd was ecstatic! Jake has gone on from that introduction to take over the world! So happy to see him again on the Telluride stage!
I first saw him in Snowmass Village in 2007 with a couple dozen other people and was blown away. I have some crude uke skills and his flying hands were amazing to see. Got to see him in Kauai a few years ago in a reunion with his teenage band, It was fun. The Jake and Friends cd is a good one.
Tedeschi Trucks will be a highlight.
