It's time again for your music suggestions...

Craig- Are you reading? This looks perfect!

Bands I wish would be asked:
Railroad Earth
The Infamous Stringdusters
Moonshine Racers
Chatham County Line
Honky Tonk Homeslice
Longview
Blue Highway
Crooked Still
Uncle Earl

Regular bands I never miss and hope will be back:
Tim O’Brien
Sam Bush
Jerry Douglas
Yonder Mountain String Band
Del McCoury
House band (the reason to come)

Awesome suggestions. Here is one that is a bit more celtic than bluegrass, but fun: Scythian.

Hey Jen,

Do you see them play at Four Fields in Cleveland Park? I have a couple of friends (Tory, Adrienne - ring a bell?) who are total die-hards for those guys.

:cheers

Billy

Nice list Hippie! Getting all the girls (and the “girls”) back again for a Boomchicks reunion would be great!

Sheryl Crow
Bonnie Raitt

I should probably throw in the steeldrivers too

Rev. Payton & His Big Damn Band!

Hey, Billy:

I didn’t see that particular Scythian show, but I do know Tori and Adrienne from Blarney Ball activities. In fact, I expect to see them at RiRa in Arlington this Thursday night for a happy hour before The Duhks play IOTA.

Jen

P.S. Also, I know I don’t have a photo up - - but I am the one that met you at the State Theater Sam Bush show a couple of years ago.

Ah yes, the beauty of the festivarian community is clearly at work here - it’s a festivus miracle!

So, are you the one and only Jenny Hughes who I also saw at Neil Young??? :wave

Billy:

It is a festivus miracle! Yes, tis me, Jenny (actually, Jennie) Hughes from Neil Young.

Come see The Duhks on Thursday - - Iota.

Another band who should be at Tride in 2009.

Jen

Yes, indeed a great first attempt at a lineup. I have to comment about one glaring omission: Yonder Mountain String Band. (I guess Sam is not an omission if he is playing with NGR but otherwise that is the next big omission).

Doesn’t Sammy play well with others? :lol :lol :lol
and NGR & SIN & Boomchicks & House band … :flower
:peace

SIN is sooo close to the house band lineup though (then again I’d be ok with the house band playing multiple times :-p)

I just HAVE to throw out Dread Clampitt. I fell in love all over again when I put their cd back in my rotation this week. A tweener, or something for these guys! I met them down in Destin and they were awesome.

i’m assuming we’ll be seeing AKUS this year?

how 'bout Hackensaw Boys!

Infamous String Dusters
Tony Furtado
Sarah Jarosz
Drew Emmitt Band doing a night-grass show
Leftover Salmon
Crooked Still
Railroad Earth
The Clumsy Lovers
Spring Creek Bluegrass
Peter Rowan and Crucial Country
AKUS
Hot Rize for 2 hours!!!

And of course all the regulars.

how 'bout Stephen Marley
and Sam could jam with them :cheers
check out his album “Mind Control”

and Shawn Colvin again, she is always welcome :flower

Alison Krauss and Robert Plant
heard they might work on a 2nd album together
I was going to see them in Houston but the show got cancelled
because of the hurricane Ike

Ok…this is all in fun! :bubbles

How about…(just to top the Ryan Adams set!) :

Metallica!!!

It’s totally possible that I would be the ONLY one to enjoy that set!!! :rock

Hey now Connie
Anywere I Roam

:rock :devil :rock
