I know you are all thinking thanksgiving but downunder we are thinking of the big tease…come on Ferg, time to start tantalising us with tiny little morsels.
Who is coming next year? You know you want to give us a hint. Please…
Excited!
And happy soon to be thanksgiving from my country to yours
Sam B
Bela F
Jerry D
Edgar M
Tim O
Peter R
Chris T
“YMSB” (Wed @ Conference, Fri @ SOH, Sat @ TP late afternoon) & no Jeff Austin presence are all “locks”.
At least half of the following:
ISD
Greensky
Emmylou
The Cow (in some incarnation)
Alison Krause
A McCoury presence
Elephant Rivival
Add the above two groups together and throwing in a couple few “up and coming” lesser known acts & a couple few “bigger names” (but not quite “headliners”) that don’t make it to TBF regularly.
Personally, I’ll be watching to see if Leftover Salmon makes it back on to the lineup. However, beyond that … the Monte Hall routine pertains to only about 20% of the lineup.
As someone who doesn’t have cable/tv … I’m not always up to date on such matters, so couldn’t resist looking it up. Didn’t realize there’s a “new” LMAD.
^ the chart at the bottom reminds me of what you see for bands with a long history and changing changing cast members (i.e. Doobie Brothers).
Not sure about wise, maybe just somewhat observant. However, probably sold the “for certain” category short, since there’s invariably at least one interesting collaboration of musicians in this group (apart from the House Band). The positive aspect of this can’t be understated enough, at least in so far as the cross-pollination in context of tradition aspect of things.
Yes, Tom is correct re: the Cow, who seems to be on the every 2-3 year plan … although maybe LS is on to something! :lol
The Eagles are actually playing in Denver on June 28th, with Jimmy Buffet. It would be nice if some of them snuck over to Telluride beforehand.
Speaking of old time bands, here’s one I would like to see. Both of these guys have played here before, but not together. One just last year. How about some Hot Tuna? Sammy can help out and do his impersonation of Papa John Creech. :cheers
I’m With Her would be so awesome to see on the main stage!
I did notice that the Avett Brothers are playing their usual multi-day Red Rocks shows a few weekends earlier this year and it’s actually the weekend after TBF. Just throwing that out there. :wave
Girl Power. Come on Ferg, make us smile! I can just imagine the Festy crowd singing and dancing to Jimmy Buffet, what a party boy he is. :flower :flower
