Thank you for bringing back Elephant Revival! This is a really solid initial line-up IMO. Nice mix of the old standards along with a couple cool suprises. :cheers
Looks good but super bummed that Stringdusters won’t be back this year. Their Nightgrass set was the best last year. Was hoping for Mandolin Orange. Super excited Greensky is on there…no matter how big they get it sounds like they plan to return every year.
No Stringdusters? I’m so excited at seeing the names on the list, :medal :cheers :thumbsup :thumbsup I haven’t had chance to ruminate about who’s not on the list. :pipe2 :pipe2 :talk :spill :argh :argh :flight
Dusters announced a competing date a few weeks ago, so no surprise there. Pandolfi and Hall at Bluegrass Generals with Phoff and others in a couple weeks for us Fromt Range folks, though!
You folks just don’t get rock and roll. There are so many non-bluegrass acts that follow the creed of folk music still (Fruition, Railroad Earth, Grant Farm, etc) that fit in despite not being country or bluegrass. But Dispatch? Might as well added Klezmer music and some Tuvan though singing. Wait they are more in style that rock is. I don’t get this desire to make a “bluegrass” festival a rock festival every year. My worse musical experiences have been at Telluride. As have been my best.
Bring us bands with banjos and/or fiddles and/or mandolins. Or at least an acoustic guitar not surrounded but loud noises.
GET OUT A TOWN!!! :cheers
I want to volunteer this year!! I’m takin Dierks flyfishin!!! A promise is a promise! HELL YEAH put that in your stocking kids.
I think this Fest always trys to include and cover all ages and yes it is the spoon in the cup that stirs the crowd to awaken your ears and this line up is well thought out . As they control the ebb and flow of energy that evokes us. I want to be Ferg for a day to orchastrate10000 to sway or jump or sit perfectly still. Wow what a huge task.
Thank you for bringing Dierks Bentley to Telluride. I love his bluegrass album Up on the Ridge. I love their cover of Pride with Del and Chris Thile. He will be a wonderful addition to the Festival. Can’t wait to see him there.
I was at a party once in college, classic fun boy party some neighbors were throwing across the street. Walked in, there was a big plastic tub full of some pink liquid. Place smelled like a combination of CK One that cucumber pear spritzer that you can purchase at Bed Bath and Beyond and roofies. Looked at the TV and a Dispatch DVD was playing, the one where they end the show singing the General (worst song ever?) while jumping up on down on trampolines. Bonged a beer, smoked a cig and walked back to the other side of the street to never return.
Really nice lineup PB. 6 months to go, it will be here before we know it.
Hope Salmon makes it back and brings Billy Strings with them.If not, does Greensky get the Saturday night slot?
We had never heard of Dispatch but have started playing clips. Man, I think they are GOOD! I don’t understand the push back on them? As we say, this festival opens our eyes to so many great new bands and performers. ( Had never heard of Greensky before I came to Telluride, now I play them every day). What a privilege to discover another amazing talent. Looking forward to seeing them live. The energy from their fans at gigs is incredible.
Now, on another note…I’m still praying for AKUS to appear, come on PBG, make our dream come true, please?
Merry Christmas from the folk down under where it is 40 degrees centigrade. Beach day!

Hmm, I didn’t know that? Seems like YMSB and Greensky are standards every year…based on things I’ve read they said they plan to always be in attendance. I thought LOS was more or less the same…ISD and RRE are every few years. I guess we just got super lucky last year b/c we had 4 of the 5.
