Hello Festivarian Friends, especially those of you living in or near Telluride. :flower We are looking for a dog sitter for our Alaskan Malamute, Loki, while we are at the festivial. It would be great to find a fenced yard in town where we could visit and walk him everyday. Since we can’t have him in the campground, he would need to stay with you for the week. Loki is a happy, go lucky pooch, pretty mellow and not a barker. Lives for walks and romps with other dogs. We are traveling from Oregon. If anyone has any ideas, we are open to hearing them, as it seems the kennel options are pretty scarce in the area.
Thanks,
Jeff & Roxanne
Ooh, he’s beautiful! Too bad he can’t be in the campground.
I know right…He could be the Mary E Illium camp mascot…
Last year we went with Dan and Lane

They have a ranch about an hour S.E (?) of T-ride, cage free boarding, very nice people. Reasonable rates, and if you work it out with them in time you can arrange a pick-up/drop-off from town before the festival starts.
I second this suggestion! Courtness and I used them a few years back. It’s open-boarding so they can run all day long. The dogs had a blast! :thumbsup
Thanks for the suggestion. We were all ready to go with them, but our pooch is not neutered, so he wasn’t invited to stay. I guess we understand that in an open setting like that, a few intact males could cause some troubles. Loki is pretty gentle, and takes plenty of grief from his current playmates without retaliating, but he will stand his ground at times…
We have located a kennel in both Durango and Gunnison that will take him, so at least we have a plan if we don’t find an in town person who want to “borrow” him for the week.
