Hot Springs

Someone asked somewhere, should we bring bathing suits. So was wondering if there are any hot springs in or around Telluride to soak in.

Orvis and Ouray are both close. Ron is a soakaholic, he should chime in soon with all your soaking information.

Plenty of soakable springs just over the hill from Telluride. The little town of Ouray has several nice pools that all require fabric coverings. The more adventerous festivarians choose the clothing optional, Orvis Hot Springs in Ridgeway. They have a nice motel and a few campspots attached, make your reservations about three months ago for pre and post fest overnight soaking. Day use is available anytime.

Hope this helps

thanks, looks like I’ll need my trunks. Or not

Orvis Hot Springs sounds fan-tastic!! :thumbsup

So does this mean that Orvis is probably booked up for just motel and camping or for soaking as well? I would love to indulge in some evening soaktime!! :thumbsup

Why Not just check with them directly?

may have to get a carpool together.

Hey, Thom, where did you take that picture?

This is reminding me of C.W. McCalls “Crispy Critters”. The picture is Hope lake about six years ago.

:wave Now y’all got me going… I had to double triple check, through the post festival 2010 fog :flower Did I really remember to make those reservations for Orvis? Campsite number 1, right? No more rooms for me until the right partner comes along. There might just be a novel, at least a short story, in this whole exchange :lol

Needless to say, my post festivarian brain had the foresight to make sure our reservation (my festival brain and I) was intact for an after festival soak in, you guessed it, campsite number 1! A quick phone call to the friendly folks at Orivs confirmed the same. Thank Goodness for these “damn” computers :flower

It’s a great photo. :cheers

After 4 days of party, sounds like a great idea. We could all go, relax and, (do I dare say) hang out together. :lol

Thanks, it makes for a great day hike from Trout lake too.

So you’ll be picking up Mika on Tuesday again? I’m fairly sure that the Waldorf Dog Hotel has her reservation confirmed. Her suite will be ready, and soup will be on the stove for dogourmet feasting while we are festivating. :dog There may even be some additional openings at this 4-Bone rated exclusive Dog Hotel, if anyone needs to book accommodations for their 4-legged friend. I might be able to convince the proprietor to use his new van as a shuttle to bring the little critters up for a swim in the San Miguel so their humans can lose some of that pesky separation anxiety. :sorry
