There’s a section for tapers to post links to their recordings on the forum. Keep an eye there, on Archive.org, and on bt.etree.org (which has been down for a couple of days) and tapes will start showing up!
Okay…not looking to start a complex techie discussion, just want L’il Smokies. So…I went to that link, saw the set list, clicked “download” and got a small 12kb file. So…I presume i need to download a bittorrent app (for Mac OSX) that will open that file? Anyone have any safety/security issues with that? Do I also need to sign up for an etree account?
Heard the run a-muck set only very faintly…someone had to be in the tarp line for run a-muck–hope that set shows up somewhere as well… :wave :thumbsup
I am not a Mac expert, but yes, you need a bittorrent app to download the file. The files are usually in flac format, so you might need a converter to change from flac to MP3. That does impact sound quality.
Yuk. Two apps…finally am able to listen, although yeah, the fidelity isn’t great. Tomorrow or whenever the etree site is up I’ll be able to get the set list again. :flower
Being somewhat of a Mac expert the apps that you need are Vuze BitTorrent client for downloading. And BootTunes and xACT for converting from flac to Apple Lossless, you don’t want mp3’s
P.M. me if you have any questions.
Downloaded (with vuse client), converted to mp3s (well, I didn’t know any better Maple Al, may work on that), titled, and…listened to. Ahhhhh!!! Thanks!
