This is a really cool article that involves a lot of our favorite bluegrass/newgrass musicians and a “lost” masterpiece of the newgrass movement. I’ve never been able to put my hands on this record, but learned from the article that it can be ordered now, which I’ve done (and am very excited about).
Unfortunately looks like it’s not available anymore. I hope they run more – I got mine in the mail today and am excited about pairing it with the story.
Just listened to the CD and it’s really good. Kind of has a picking circle feel to it. Thanks again for posting the Oxford American article as I would never have otherwise heard about it. I love digging cool old stuff up like this!
I emailed Hank about it, since I wanted to buy one for my dad as well and it’s no longer for sale on Amazon; he said there should be some more for sale via his store on Amazon by the end of the week or beginning of next week.
That link above makes it look like you can buy it, but when you go to the order page, it’s not one of the options. Awesomely, though, you can apparently order Tut Taylor CDs straight from Tut Taylor. So I learned that today.
