The following article is for all those folks out there like me who were wondering why the hell Zach Brown band was on the Telluride stage:

And it’s also for all those folks who thought that Zach Brown was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Man, You are Nasty. Not really in the TBF spirit, I would say, And it seems that you can’t spell either! :huh :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

a festival with michael franti and spearhead, gaelic storm, and more on a cruise ship to the cayman islands…

and a festival at gulf shores, AL with Alisson Krauss, Black Crowes, Jerry Jeff Walker, and so many more…

opinions of zac brown band aside (i personally like him and their music) he sure does keep good company, and seems to be having a helluva spring coming up…
:cheers

Last year my wife and I left the pickin tent set up at our camp and went to bed about 4 am. We were sleeping about 20 feet behind the pickin tent. All of a sudden we heard someone and right away we new he had to be someone. Sure enough the zac brown band had found the port o party pickin tent and used it to warm up for their next days show. Pretty good to get a free zac brown show with out having to leave the comfort of my sleeping bag

I would have gotten up and moved my tent…"“I thank god for my life, And for the stars and stripes, May freedom forever fly, let it ring, Salute the ones who died, And the ones that give their lives, so we don`t have to sacrifice, All the things we love, Like our chicken fried…”

I rather like that lyric…

It says something about those that sacrifice all they have in order to allow us to enjoy the little things in life, like our chicken fried.

livluv…I bet that was a treat. Zac is a good picker. He’s not Bryan Sutton, but he’s no slouch either. :pickin

It was combined with all the other great pickers in that tent throughout the week and I felt very happy

tent placement can be crucial. :thumbsup

Sorry bobwilkie. Seems that you are the only one who does :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsupnt like zac and his band. I rather enjoyed them and their fun lyric!! :lol

Bob, Bob, Bob,

The past is the past man. Let the Chicken Fried be eaten and let’s move on to the next part of the meal. We’ll call it… hummm…

FESTIVVVAAALLL!!! 2010

I think they’re cooking up something special you’re going to love! :thumbsup

Auntie Hope :festivarian2 :green

I agree with Hope Lin BUT I will say that I think Zac Brown Band was pretty lame.

wow… :rolleyes

I was forced through half of their set due to a rather large and long bloody nose that had me sitting in the medical tent for half an hour. I can’t say i was happy about it.

Aw, come on. Don’t be a hater.

Hi All,

Three Year attendee to TBF, first time poster. I could not let this go. First of all, while we stay in our camper and not in Town Park or Werner, I cannot say enough about how amazing everyone is at the festival. We love it. Zac Brown Band Rocks. Thanks so much TBF for having the band at Telluride. It is the way of life he is promoting in the song Chicken Fried, meaning how much we all love being able to live in a free country that allows us to drink a beer, eat fried chicken, have our radio on, or anything else we want. Yes, there are some bands I am not crazy about, but you know, I am all for keeping an open mind and learning to like new music. Kind of the TBF spirit. Please don’t knock bands because you personally don’t like them. Learn to open your mind! :flower

Well said bigdog! :thumbsup
I’m all for an open attitude, especially if you’re attending TBF! It’s one of those festivals that’s just all about diversity, and if you don’t like that, I think you’ve chosen the wrong festival!
I mean, I’m british and agnostic, but that doesn’t stop me enjoying the gospel component of bluegrass!

great award for a GREAT band! they rocked at telluride, had people standing up and boogeyin during the early afternoon set that they had when most people sit during those sets.

caught them again at the fillmore not too long back and they blew the roof off!

I feel sorry for this BobWilkie guy. He sounds like a really negative person. If you don’t like a band, take a little hike up to the falls, take a nap, do anything but complain. What makes TBF so great is the diversity and the chances the organizers take in scheduling. Mr. Wilkie must believe the world, or the Festival, revolves around him and his personal musical tastes. Or perhaps he doesn’t agree politically with a line or two of a Zac Brown song therefore the band sucks. I agree with lalagay: I’m afraid Mr. Wilkie has chosen the wrong festival. As for me, I look forward to seeing some bands that challenge me to think and listen in new ways, when I disagree with a melody or a lyric or two of a song, I will think of Mr. Wilkie’s closed, little mind and get up and dance. Thanks Planet Bluegrass for a diverse and challenging Festival.

“I will think of Mr. Wilkie’s closed, little mind and get up and dance”

Although I agree with the general idea of your post, I think you actually are kind of contradicting yourself. Saying that someone that you presumably do not know has a “closed, little mind” is, I think, a little rude and against the whole idea of being a loving festivarian. I actually think that being rude to someone who has a differant opinion is actually a little closed minded in itself.

I dont mean to cause any controversy by any means, but I just felt that all of this negativity put towards someone else’s negativity is a little bit backwards. I guess I would rather just agree to disagree. BobWilke clearly doesnt like the Zac Brown Band and, guess what? That is fine.

Lets let the festi loving , acceptance and tolerance begin now on all levels and directions. Bob always grips about somethin this time of year, it’s his MO :lol :flower

The ZACH BROWN BAND, hell yea! Lets all get up and dance. :woohoo :woohoo :woohoo
