It makes me really sad to have to repost this, but unfortunately, this happened to me between yesterday and today. Not cool.
The handle name is Tentunes. The Venmo account used was @Janiceoakley77. Thankfully, we only paid half before the tickets were supposed to be transferred.
We were very excited about securing an RV spot for our family after ticket purchasing issues. If someone needs $213 that badly, I guess they can keep it. We’ll still have an amazing festival regardless.
I just wanted to make others aware that scammers are out there and very active this year—please be careful.
Try getting Venmo to refund the money as the goods were not transferred. @thewiz can help get this person ousted, or maybe potentially they will still honor the deal.
So sorry this happened but yes we’ve banned this user to protect others. For others going forward, please heed the best practices listed at the top of every ticket exchange section to be careful of scammers.
I also got scammed by the same person for a Laverne Parking Pass. Very sophisticated in the correspondence. Hopefully they can’t get access to anything else.
They reached out to me with an RV pass to sell as well. I asked how they wanted to handle the transfer and their answer was Venmo so I ignored it. Glad I did.
I find that many of these scammers use similar language for multiple attempts across the board. Would you be willing to copy and paste some of the initial or pertinent communication from them so we know what verbiage we might want to watch out for?
