Did anyone else catch the Goat Rodeo simulcast at the movie theater last night? The live event was at House of Blues in Boston and it was simulcast to movie theaters across the country. It was fantastic. The teaser on You Tube doesn’t do justice to just how wonderful those guys sound together. I can’t believe how much I enjoyed the show considering I was sitting in a suburban movie theater with a total of 10 other people, none of which I knew or even spoke with.
Before the last song, Chris asked the audience if they thought people in the movie theaters were clapping between songs. He said this questions was driving him crazy all night. Well, the people in the theater I was in were definitely clapping between songs. It was pretty cool.
So wonderful! We caught the show in Tulsa,Ok.—now that three of the rodeo are signed for rockygrass, all we need is Meyers and Yo Yo to complete the lineup this July!
:thumbsup :cheers :thumbsup
That was really, really awesome! I loved every second of it. I suppose the sound would be better in the House of Blues, but to watch a live concert, with cool camera shots and all, was tremendous. Thinking they won’t be doing many shows as yet, so I’m glad I saw it. Some killer bluegrass cello. Hope to see that again!
:clap :clap :clap
Once technical difficulties in Boulder got worked out it was awesome! Chris’ fiddle is ridiculous; that guy is out of his mind. And Aoife O’Donovan on vocals? :vibes Just a bunch of music geeks doing it to perfection! Hope that show gives em the juice to get a tour going (or at least a nightgrass show!) :cheers
It would be great if that show does inspire them to tour. I really want to believe that last night isn’t the only time that I will ever get to see those guys “live”.
I was at the House of Blues and it was great fun. A little quiet at first but things ramped up and all was good. Local PBS (WGBH) did the video production so I imagine it’ll be pledge-drive material at some point.
I hope so. I wasn’t able to attend the cinecast due to it being my brother’s last night in town before permanently moving 1,000 miles away, and I’d like to see it.
I went to the showing in San Rafael and was pleased to see about 50 people showed up. Absolutely great!
Aoife looked like a million bucks and the chemistry between her and Chris is hard to ignore.
I really wouldn’t hold out much hope for a tour even though they all looked really excited. Yo Yo Ma probably has a full schedule for the next 20 years.
