Get ready for the REAL New Years Party

:band

Camp Cascadia will be kicking off the party schedule once again with our annual New Years Eve bash. We’ll be ringing in the new year of bluegrass for every time zone right up to our Cascadia New Year at 1am local time. And of course, for those who can hang, the Aloha New Year at 4am. Bring your luau gear if you think you can make it.

Remember gentlemen, don’t get the Goddesses so shitty on the Goddess Walkabout that they miss New Years. We want them just shitty enough

As always, we’ll have music, decorations, and bubbly - but your donations make it a lot easier to keep it flowing across the nation. Please save any leftover NYE party decorations for the party bin and drop champagne donations off early so we can get’m chillin.

:wave Love you Town Park family! We can’t wait to see you all in June. Happy New Year !!!

Who makes these smileys? Where’s the exploding cork one?

In the past, we’ve had challenges in remembering the words to Auld Lang Syne as we sing in each new year, so here’ a little homework for you :cheers

Auld Lang Syne is about old friends who have parted and meet again. To celebrate their long friendship, they share a drink together and reminisce of memories from long ago. The basic message is that we should not forget our old friends and should celebrate a reunion with them.

Auld Lang Syne by Robert Burns

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And auld lang syne?

Chorus:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne!

We twa hae run about the braes,
And pu’d the gowans fine,
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary fit
Sin auld lang syne.

We twa hae paidl’t in the burn
Frae morning sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
Sin auld lang syne.

And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere,
And gie’s a hand o’ thine,
And we’ll tak a right guid willie-waught
For auld lang syne!

And surely ye’ll be your pint’ stowp,
And surely I’ll be mine,
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne!

Translation:

Should old acquaintances be forgotten,
And never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintances be forgotten,
And days of long ago !

Chorus:
For old long ago, my dear
For old long ago,
We will take a cup of kindness yet
For old long ago.

We two have run about the hillsides
And pulled the daisies fine,
But we have wandered many a weary foot
For old long ago.

We two have paddled (waded) in the stream
From noon until dinner time,
But seas between us broad have roared
Since old long ago.

And there is a hand, my trusty friend,
And give us a hand of yours,
And we will take a goodwill draught (of ale)
For old long ago!

And surely you will pay for your pint,
And surely I will pay for mine!
And we will take a cup of kindness yet
For old long ago!

Looking forward to it, Evan! And may you have a happy new year all year!

Could you maybe put up a jumbo-tron inside the dome this year with the lyrics on it? That would be way better.

Also, will there be a New Year’s theme this year? How about “No Pants New Years”?

That will be quite chilly! Snowballs anyone? :evil

First you call for everyone to “go commando”, now “no pants”?

Sheesh, Hooch, I really think you have an addiction and should seek help, or at least bring your own hooker with you.
