It is true, I underestimated the “nuttiness” of this group. I have since learned my lesson, and have officially accepted my own role in the festivarian family of “nuts” . . . may the powers of the universe be with us all during the “nutty” events to come!
You have NO IDEA!! The depths of the nuttiness in this group, the rumball inspired depravity, the cold inspired total lack of fashion sense, the mai-tai inspired total lack of pitch while singing “Let’s Talk Dirty In Hawaiian”, the creativity, the love…
It’s incomparable and t’s why I’ve been SO many times!
I would also recomend one of those little coleman “sportcat” heaters. Get the smallest one, because they burn up one canister after about 18 hours which is a pretty long time. I connect mine to a regular tank. I also agree about good gear as a first step, and can recall waking in line one morning feeling really toasty in my bag with ice on the outside. It can be wet and miserable though, and a heater feels real good inside your tent. Tent? Something tall enough to stand in nice, and extra tarps to keep the area around you dry makes life easier in the rain. Bring some heavy duty tent stakes and extra rope to hang them. Duct tape.
Gettin close!
I saw Yonder last night, it was Jeff’s birthday. It was festive and fun. Lots of folks here in Tahoe from out of town. Vince Herman opened, and joined for a few tunes. I’m elated to see him added for Sunday!
I mailed a cooler full fo gear to myself general delivery Telluride, CO. It worked out great and was cheeper that the airline extra or heavy bag fee. The post office employees in Telluride were very friendly and accomodating.
Karlos, when you said “gear”, was that code for “beer”??? :cheers And when you said that the post office employees were very “friendly and accomodating”, did you really mean “I bribed them with beer”??? :drunk
No Daniela. Funny imagination though… I keep the homebrew close by… those kegs are like lovely little children… I don’t let them get too far out of site. As for the the postals… they really were the friendliest postals I’d ever met. Bribe? Do you think I would bribe people with my homebrew? Why that’s un-thinkable… homebrew’s for giving.
Now… about those dishes piling-up in our camp… :whip
I am also in for dish duty… clean-up duty… and serving… as long as Fleck is not on stage. At that point I tend to drop everything in my hands and run like a crazy woman to see those fingers flyin’. OCD??? I think not! Just a pure love of banjo!
EDIT: Tom, I went to change the avitar but could not find the Hippo. I’ll try again tomorrow. Any pont in the right direction would be very welcome! Thanks Again!

Sportsman Warehouse sells an XL model it’s the widest I found and also has the highest weight rating (500lbs.) the run about $85.00. I don’t believe they have an online store but it looed like Cabelas has the same cot with there name on it for about the same price. :drive
