Hi Festivarians,
My family and I have done on-site camping at Folks Fest for the last three years. We’re a family of 5 so we splurged this year and got a car camping pass. I have some questions about how the car camping works:
-
Do they mark off the individual car camping spots? With the tent-only on-site camping, it was a literal land grab race and whatever space you could claim. I don’t imagine that would work with vehicles, though?
-
How big are the spots and what shape are the spots? We’ve got a minivan and a tent that is about the same size as the minivan and a pop-up tent that we use to create a covered cooking area. I don’t know that we’re tied to any specific configuration of those three things, but it would be great if they would all fit.
-
Is there a part of the car camping area we should try for first? We have three children who are old enough (8, 9 and 11) to be smart about the river and it would be lovely to be near it. Shade and reasonable proximity to bathrooms and the festival grounds would also be nice.
-
Anything else you can think of that we should know in the transition from tent-only campground to car campground?
Thank you in advance and see you at the Festival!!
Mary
