Mary E is next to San miguel river if i have an extra minute is the flyfishing any good at that time of month or will river be blown out with runoff
:wave It depends. If we get a heat wave before Fest the run off will be high and the river too muddy and fast but if we get a nice steady warm up then yes the fishing will be good. :medal
I used to bring my fly rod every year, but when the snowpack is big, you have to leave town to get on a fishable stream (the Dolores being one idea for ya). But when T-ride is warm (like 2 years ago) fishing was great EVERYwhere. We caught LOTS of trout right in Town Park.
So the only thing to do is to contact the fly shops in T-ride. I usually do this about a week in advance. They will tell you straight out if the local rivers are fishable. They’ve never steered me wrong, and I show my appreciation by shopping there every year (even when there’s no local fishing).
River levels will depend on if it ever stops snowing in the mountains this spring. I have been watching the storms roll through Colorado this past Month. No snow all winter then getting pounded in mid spring.
Thanks, gonna bring my rod anyway stopping off in Stonewall,co. on way up the folks I work for have a ranch there and I am gonna fish there one morning
