hey there! this will be both my first festival and my first time in telluride! i’m stoked to say the least. i will also be 7 months pregnant so im a bit nervous but my excitement has pretty much overruled that emotion. =]
anyways, this may sound like the dumbest question you’ve heard on this forum but does YMSB only play that night before? i sure hope not.
anyways, glad to be joining in on the fun; dont know why i’ve waited to long.
They play the Conference Center show on Wednesday night, then they’ll get a slot on the main stage and they’ll probably get a nightgrass show, too. Plus, it’s not unlikely that you’ll be able to catch some of them doing a few workshops.
Water, water, water… is going to be your major advise, being pregnant and all. Remember that water amplifies sound so there’s no standing in front of the speakers for you (I did this at “The Police” concert years ago, not a good idea, trust me).
Having said that…
What a wonderful way to start your child on a lifetime of music!!! :thumbsup

Come hunt us down and we’ll show you what kids who grew up on bluegrass are like
Yup- we have kids that have been to fest every year of their life and gestations too! LOL
Hope- I believe I need to hear that story…LOL
thanks guys! im a water fiend as it is so that wont be a problem. more concerned about shade and staying cool. lol. im pretty excited about the whole thing, its whats getting me through this semester. thinking thoughts of bluegrass
Come look for us over in the EZ up section… Key word is EZ up…LOL whenever you need some shade
Went to the Home and Garden Show, was told by fiends to just stay and hang out because there was this pretty cool band that was supposed to play, stayed… standing down in front of the left speakers once they were set-up… first tune started… I moved to the back of the auditorium because Gordo suddenly had a stunt double… in my belly!
She didn’t like the Harrier jet either… go figure! :lol
The good news is… she’s pushing 30 now! Really pushing! :thumbsup

There’s always plenty of shade to go around for pregnant women. Pregnant men too, we don’t discriminate
Ooo you can tell ze baby, “When you were 7 months old, you saw Robert Plant and Darell Scott!” I’m sure with a mom that goes to telluride, the baby will be spouting this amazing fact to all of his/her preschool friends in no time… :woohoo
im very glad you festivarians (did i get that right???!!) share your shade with pregnant women/men.
also, i wish i could say that i saw robert plant via the womb. my baby is already a bamf. screw maternity Mozart, my baby is going to JAM!
Yup, festivarians is the politically correct term. :cheers
a couple more questions…
we were planning on arrive on wednesday probably late morning, but as im reading these threads im beginning to think that’s a bad idea. we are camping at illium and i REALLY want a fire pit. would arriving at tuesday late morning be a safe bet?
concerning nightgrass, is it more of a “party vibe” (meaning packed/drunk/off the wall). that’s normally cool and just up my ally but being 7 months pregnant i dont want to buy tickets and show up and be really overwhelmed and not have a good time you know?
THANKS GUYS!!
When I camped at Mary E, we arrived Tuesday night and most of the fire pits were taken. I’m not sure how likely Tuesday morning will be, but most people are really welcoming with their pits. If you can’t find your own, go join in with someone else.
IMHO, the NightGrass @ the Sheridan is not overly rowdy, but surely is awesome! The FMttMoon can be more raucous and cramped. Both have the “Party Vibe” that you speak of, but nothing out of hand that I’ve seen. It’s all good! :thumbsup
Nobody in their right mind is going to turn a pregnant lady away from a firepit on a chilly June evening in the canyon, or the valley. Arrive when you can, make friends and bring extra firewood to donate to the pile if you think it might help a friendship along! :thumbsup
