What time does First Grass usually happen? I have to pick up a friend from Montrose at 2pm on WED. Trying to see if I will make it back in time.
I missed the first act last year. Seems like it started somewhere in the 5-6pm range??? Maybe first act 6ish, 2nd 7:30.
This is my third consecutive year and never made it the first two. I wasn’t aware it was even going on.
Last year, First Grass ran from 5-8pm. Gondola lines can get long but, I’ll bet you will make it back in time!
What do you think of the new Byrne album? We are going to see the American Utpoia tour in two weeks, pretty excited.
To be honest, it takes a couple listens to connect to it but it does grow on you. I am also going to see him this summer. This will be my 10th consecutive Telluride and his electrifying performance my first year in 2009 remains my #1 Telluride Highlight (and I know that I’m not alone). I’ve attempted to attach a link to a youtube from that night that hopefully captures the magic of that night. Its moments like those that I live for! :band

I really love Firstgrass, I have gone every year. Super carefree vibe and I have made lots of new friends there.
David Byrne was AMAZING in 2009. My top fav show too! (out of 17 years attending!)
Yes the Forum has spoken and First grass will be Lil Smokies, followed by Billy Strings w/Anders sitting in whole show!

Haven’t been to TBF since 2012 and don’t remember any “First Grass” show. Is this separate from the kickoff show at the conference center?
Yep, it’s BEFORE the Conference Center show. Completely free, with beer stands.
Listened to the new album once. Excited to see him in May. Bring on the music festival season!
