Can anyone recommend a good fiddle teacher in Fort Collins? I’m a beginner.
Didn’t Heidi Clare just move up to that region?
I would be interested in a recommendation for the Boulder/Denver Metro area. I bought a fiddle in T-ride this year, and am doing okay thanks to my mandolin experience, but I need to learn the basics.
Thanks!
What about the Denver Folklore Center or Swallow Hill? or the Old Town Pickin’ Parlor
Jen, I know the basics to playing “violin” and would be happy to share my knowledge with you but am just learing how to fiddle.
Email me off list if you are interested. I live in Arvada and will do it for fun. Teresa dntw@comcast.net
Hi Jen-
I guess that I did not elaborate enough on that reply email. I learned violin in school and played classical for 8 years and was, at that time, in the Jr. Symphony and played 2nd chair in our high school orchestra. What I meant to say was that I know the basics of fiddling but I can teach you to play classically, get the bowing technics and fingering and music reading down. Helping you would push me to learn more of the fiddling and to practice more. SSO if you or anyone else here would be willing to come to Arvada I will help you out.

I recommend Old Time Dave Talmage, the fiddler from the Billy Pilgrims. He’s in Lyons. PM me and I will get you his contact info…

I second that G-luv…
Old time Dave is from Appomattox VA, Joel Walker Sweeney is from there too, some folks say that the five string banjo is credited to Mr Sweeney.
John Hartford taught me that.
