Festival Chair Suggestions?????

Anyone got em? Something light weight, easy to carry to from lodging etc.

the short backpack variety all work well. try to stay away from the type with the built in sun shade, they block the view of those around you making you a less than popular neighbor.

Agree! This chair is comfy and light.

Make sure if you are a large man you get a chair that is a heavier gauge. So consider your size cause no chair is a problem.
I like the ones from target, they are low to the ground, have a nice high back that recline, a pocket in back for all your day gear and a cup holder that is supper important, you do not want to be sloching around on a dirty dusty tarp.

But you have to act now cause befor you know it, fleece will be on the shelves. Really, I am always amazed how all the summer stuff is gone come june.

Whatever chair you bring, put some identifying marks on it. Festival chairs are like airport luggage - many look the same.

Thanks for the validation of the REI chair since I just bought one today! Also, for the idea of identifying your chair.

We’ve had a couple from Home Depot for the last four or five years that finally kicked the bucket. We looked at REI and found some good but spendy ones, so I ventured back over to HD and found essentially the same ones. We like the lower-to-the-ground ones so we don’t get booted to the back, preferably with a cup holder, and definitely with the ability to recline so I can take a little siesta after a few cold ones. The new version at HD doesn’t have a cup holder, sadly, but does recline, has a pocket on the back for your programs and newspapers and such, and has backpack straps for carrying in. I’m 5’2 but my husband is 6’3 and 240 lbs, and they suit us both. Only about $25, and they’ve lasted us several years, so I bought them again. There are definitely some good ones at REI and elsewhere like the Kelty and GCI ones, but they’re more.

As the saying goes: “You get what you pay for” The thing about buying from REI is you can return it something breaks beside normal wear and tear, pretty much for the life of the chair. Plus I hate going to Home Cheapo

That’s why I tend to bring a disposable. My current favorite I got for a buck at a yard sale. It rocks, though, cuz it’s low to the ground and adjusts to horizontal. I suspect it’s a 1970’s model. Retro, baby!
