Extraordinary

Bela and the CSO.

You have just set a very high bar. :medal

Indeed. I think they might have gotten the loudest ovation of the weekend. Really cool

Yep, I was prepared to not like this! It was awesome…they were smart to start with the William Tell Overture!

It’s artist combos like this that make TBF so extraordinary. Loved it.

I found out when I got home that they played here in Montrose on Thursday night.
If I had known I would have told friends to go see them.
I doubt if Sam was there for the finale but it would have been worth it.
:thumbsup

Agreed. This blew me away. The Concerto was awesome, but Big Country is what really got me.

Looking forward to Warren Haynes at Red Rocks even more now! That was the tightest set of music I’ve heard in a long time. Thanks again KOTO!

I just had to close my eyes, so much to see and hear with just two small ears. Such a full beautiful sound and the way the Conductor moved and directed. The sound of the Banjo integrated so well I was amazed. I was not sure what to expect. Expect expansion from brother Bela…moved. It was outstanding!

I saw Bela for a few minutes Monday morning as we were leaving the hotel and thanked him for his amazing work during the weekend. I said that the CSO and Brooklyn Ryder sets were just something very unique and that I was glad he was always experimenting. He gave me a very humble look with a little smile and said something like “Thanks, it’s really good to hear that. Lots of people have asked me about those sets this weekend …” I also said that the Sunday House Band set was, as always, excellent and he said that it’s always a lot of fun to play that music after all of the other hard work. While I’m pretty much convinced that Bela is just flat-out smarter than the rest of us, I’m always so very impressed with the humility, challenge and spirit of stretching that he brings both to his body of work as well as his annual Telluride weekend.

I turned my chair around during the set and watched Ingram falls, then a hawk appeared from way up valley and hung out for awhile. The soaring of the bird and the banjo and the orchestra brought tears to my eyes.

Full set if you want to relive the magic or didn’t hear it the first time:
