Distance from stage?

Anybody know how close to the stage before it gets to loud? Want to avoid ringing ears.

The sound is incredible way behind the sound booth. The farther back the fuller the sound. Do not stand in front of the speakers if you are sensitive to loud sound and always put ear plugs in children’s ears…

I saw Robert Plant from way in the back and the sound was just amazing. I always stand up front and I was so surprised.

LS is so right! The sound is amazingly pleasant everywhere. I have only had an issue with " maybe a bit loud" a couple of times. The sound engineers/ gurus are so in tune to the venue and crowd… They know how we like it!!!

Be aware of the big names though. Folks like Plant, Fogerty, etc always bring in their own sound guys. Some of them defer to the PB crew and let them dial it in, but some of them drive the board themselves. Usually, that’s when you get ear-bleed levels or awful distortion (think John Fogerty and Ryan Adams as classic examples).

The Fogerty set was the only time I’ve had every person I offered earplugs to accept them…it was too loud EVERYWHERE

That’s no joke. I hung back at camp with earplugs in, and it was still too loud back there. :eek

Agree with the fogerty / Adams sets being loud!! Fogerty was still enjoyable though. Haha…but I digress. I guess it’s safe to say, just like the weather… Be prepared for anything

They actually handed out ear plugs in the poser pit for Fogerty. I hung back at camp with Skubes for that set and, like she said, it was even too loud there. But still a great set. I"d love to see him again, but I’ll definitely bring some ear plugs.

One man gathers what another man spills …

I thought one of the loudest sets ever was Lucinda Williams. maybe cuz it was an early show (about 4:30 if I remember), but she cranked it up big time!

In this case, blood from eardroms?
