David Byrne & Yonder...

i wonder if anyone will be visiting david on stage?
yonder does a sweet ‘girlfriend is better’… to see yonder and david byrne pull some kind of collaboration would be magical!
they could do some sort of snowonthepines>girlfriendisbetter>snowonthepines mix… ahhh that would be sweet…
does anyone know if yonder does any other talking heads songs? i bet they would if they could get david byrne to come and sing with them…
getting excited thinking about it for sure :thumbsup

Now THAT is a good idea! :cheers

This also could be pretty good fodder for a beer bet at the KOTO beer tent. The potential issue is timing since Byrne plays late Thursday night and I’m not sure the Yonder boys would be making a Thu night main stage appearance…but we can hope. :thumbsup

However, David Byrne could join Yonder onstage to sing a few songs

If Byrne stuck around until Saturday then sure. So you think that’s going to happen then…hmm, I smell a bet there. :cheers

Not saying it will, just saying it could happen (and it would be epic), and as for a beer bet, I’m 17, so it’s not likely. :lol

Billy, Go for a Killer Flank Steak… anyone can buy those! :drool :lol

Byrne is scheduled to play at Red Rocks that saturday, so he won’t be sticking around for the Yonder Festi show…so if a collaboration is to happen, i would expect it Wednesday night at the Conference Center. I would love to hear ‘Girlfriend is Better’ with Byrne and Yonder… :thumbsup

I was thinking more likely to be the Sheridan show Friday night instead of conference center.

oh heck yeh! that energy would blow the top off the roof…
to be honest, im expecting that to happen anyways!!!

Because of my 17 year oldness, i would prefer the conferance center, becaus Byrne and Yonder is not something I would want to miss :medal

“IF” it even happens, it all depends on how long he wants to hangout in Telluride…but I can’t see him staying til’ late Friday night to make an appearance and then making the trip to Morrison for a Red Rocks show…I stand firm with a Conference center appearance. Whether he appears at the Conf. Center or Sheridan, it will be awesome, and at least with the Conference center the under 21’s will be able to witness a rare and neat collaboration, I would sure be pissed if I couldn’t see this because I was under 21.

I’d agree that a Conference Center collaboration with Byrne and Yonder would be absolutely siiiick! However, according to his tour dates, it looks like he’ll be in Santa Fe on Wed night. In theory a sit in would be awesome, but I’m a bit skeptical folks. Maybe one of the Yonder boys will sit in with Byrne on his set???

:cheers

hmm, nice find! I did not know he is in Santa Fe Wed. night…i guess we won’t know til it all plays out. Either way, it’s Telluride and it’s Bluegrass…nothing can go wrong! :cheers

I think an entire band coming out for a guest appearance is a little out there. Too bad though, I would’ve like to see that

Personally I’d like to see Bela come out and play because of the international influences that he shares with David. Both musicians have traveled around the world to play with incredible instrumentalists on 6 continents… Yonder’s fun but I think they are by far the most overrated band at the Festival…No offense!
But if I could have it my way? Byrne comes out with Adrian Belew on the guitar, Tina Weymouth on some backup. Bela helping , and Sammy addin’ his special touch. Then throw in the guy on the banjo-uke from the Horseflies, and play the first side of ‘My Life in the Bush of Ghosts’ followed by Almost any 'Heads tunes…
PS- Shawn Colvin sings ‘Home’ from an old Heads album…maybe he’ll call her up as well…

Well, except for the part about Younder (to each their own) I like the way you think about music. :thumbsup
